In 2021, there are more crypto millionaires than ever, and as our digital fortunes increase, so too does our desire for new ways to spend it. Gone are the days when this niche investment opportunity was seen as little more than a fad that would never catch on, s the flurry of overnight successes that were seen early on, combined with the dramatic surges in Bitcoin and other crypto values we’ve seen over the past few years, have fuelled interest from the masses. In addition to this, the number of new sign-ups to digital asset trading and investing platforms have surged dramatically as a result.

In particular, we’re seeing a huge increase in the number of amateur investors looking to dip their toes in the water, with even those who have never even considered investing in anything before now eager to jump on the bandwagon. And thanks to a range of different platforms and apps like Bitcoin Equaliser offering automatic signals to help them see success, it’s now easier than ever to open an account and get started.

Whether you’re new to the party or are a long-term investor in Bitcoin and its counterparts, the good news is that there are also now more ways to spend your fortune than ever – and from real estate to space travel, these are some of the best of them.

Real estate: Streitwise

If you’re a regular on the real estate investment circuit, then you can now do so using your Bitcoin fortune through Streitwise. The company’s escrow agent, Primetrust, is now able to facilitate payments using various types of crypto from buyers to sellers, and with a new and user-friendly IOS app which enables customers to deposit funds, view their investments and access their account statements on demand, the entire process couldn’t be easier.

Streitwise may be the first to the party, but it certainly won’t be the last. With a number of rumours bubbling in the world of luxury real estate in relation to crypto-purchases as we speak, we can expect to see some more exciting developments in this respect in 2022.

Online shopping: Amazon, Overstock and Philipp Plein

American online retail giant Overstock became one of the earliest adopters of crypto-based payments, allowing customers to spend from their virtual wallets at the checkout and processing payments through Coinbase. Philipp Plein, meanwhile, became the first fashion company to accept crypto payments in 15 different digital currencies earlier this year, paving the way for other high-end brands to do the same.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Amazon would soon be following suit, with even plans in the works to launch a cryptocurrency of its own. Although this has yet to come to fruition, Amazon vouchers are currently available from a company called Bitrefill, where customers can exchange digital currencies for goods and coupons – and who knows, 2022 might just be the year that the world’s biggest retail giant moves firmly into the world of crypto.

Space travel: Virgin Galactic

Let’s face it; when it comes to companies that will allow you to travel into space, there’s no competition, and Virgin Galactic – the world’s first commercial space line – has stunned the world by successfully sending five new astronauts into space in its innovative Spaceship Unity.

It’s only a matter of time before ultra-high-net-worth crypto whales, too, will be able to embark upon the trip of their lives, with registration already open for those interested in making a booking. The company’s vision is to eventually operate hundreds of flights each year from its dedicated Spaceport America base as well as a number of other yet-to-be-announced locations across the globe – with the experience, of course, able to be paid for in a range of different cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin.

Philanthropy: Save the Children

Of course, not everyone who happens to have a tidy crypto-fortune stashed away is keen to fritter it away on extravagant shopping sprees and decadent splurges, and the good news is that those who want to do something a little more altruistic and give back can now donate to a number of different charities using Bitcoin. Save the Children, an organisation that fights for children’s rights in a bid to ensure immediate and lasting improvement to children’s lives worldwide, is one such charity, and supporters can now make direct deposits using Bitpay.

Humanity Road, Free Snowden and the Khan Academy have also recently implemented measures to allow philanthropists to donate to them using crypto, and we can expect to see many more follow suit over the coming years.
