The highlight of my stay at the hotel had to be the spa experience. After checking in at the spa reception I was shown to the changing rooms with a door key and instructions on where to put my things, where to go next and was happily left to my own devices.
I showered, slipped my comfy robe and slippers on and made my way to the deep relaxation room to wait for my treatment. The room is such a serene and comforting place – along one wall sits a large fish tank and there are a selection of drinks and nibbles to enjoy (think dried fruits and nuts). Tinkling music plays softly in the background and the low lighting and comfy chairs get you in full pampering mode. I was called in for my treatment and enjoyed a thoroughly good full body massage – head to toe of calm-inducing indulgence in a cosy treatment room with soft lighting, fluffy towels, lovely scents and relaxing music.
After my massage I stumbled lazily back to the relaxation room (I was told I could stay there for as long as I wished – don’t tempt me!) and enjoyed some snacks, water and a read of a magazine at my own pace. I felt thoroughly decadent and lazy and enjoyed every second of it. Before my other half sent out a search party I returned to the changing rooms and went to find him at the poolside. If you want to carry on the pampering, the estate has Italian marble steam rooms, a hair salon, nail bar and boutique. Visitors can enjoy Thalgo treatments, which revitalise and heal, Terrake` therapies to relax and invigorate and corrective, non surgical, CACI treatments. Members and non members can enjoy a variety of luxury retreat packages in a range of prices all of which include a two course healthy lunch and use of the spa, health and racquet facilities for the day.
A wide range of therapies can be enjoyed including a Thalgo rebalancing facial, an algae wrap, hot stone body massage, Polynesia spa ritual, CACI tummy toning treatment, men’s options and reflexology. You can also book in for a variety of waxes, pedicures, manicures and hair therapies.
