With the imminent arrival of a new year comes an exciting new calendar of events in sport, and one of the first obvious highlights of 2022 is the Super Bowl. Set to take place on Sunday, 13th February, it could be just the pick-me-up that’s needed as we crawl towards the end of winter, and with just as much on the agenda for food and entertainment enthusiasts as for fans of the sport itself, it’s one you’ll want to make sure is marked in your diary.
This hotly anticipated event is a much-loved spectacle and one that will see a star-studded line-up of some of our favourite baseball teams from across the U.S.A. battling it out to be crowned champion. Taking place at the SoFi Stadium in California – home of the Los Angeles Rams and the L.A. Chargers – it’s set to attract up to 100,000 spectators eager to get in on a slice of the action, and with tickets starting from $6,000, it’s the ultimate luxury splurge.
With performances from the likes of hip hop stars Dr Dre, Snoop Dog and Eminem, as well as Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar, there’s lots to look forward to during half time, too – and after last year’s nail-biting event, which saw Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs defeated by Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, edge-of-your seat action is guaranteed for 2022.

Favourites to win Super Bowl 2022
As we edge ever-closer to the big day, we’re seeing plenty of movement when it comes to the odds, with teams moving up and down seemingly by the day. Reigning champions the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are hotly tipped for 2022, but with competition from the likes of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers, things are looking tight.
Other teams that have been garnering attention since the early days of the announcement have included the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Rams, but with some dramatic shifts changing the landscape entirely in recent weeks, the jury is still out on who could come out on top.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers still remain the favourite to win as the NFL season draws to a close, having recently beaten the Buffalo Bills despite needing extra time to do so. But their impressive performance in the first half has seen odds slashed for the fourth week in a row – so could we soon be seeing the defending champions lift the prestigious Lombardi Trophy once again?
Kansas City Chiefs
Hot on their heels for a potential Super Bowl 2022 are the Chiefs, with NFL betting odds continuing to project a rematch between last year’s finalists. For the third week in a row, the team has the shortest Super Bowl odds of any AFC team, with their strong defence and run of six undefeated games winning them confidence from sports betters and bookies alike.
Green Bay Packers
Although the Packers’ special team performances of late have been disappointing, they managed to defeat the Chicago Bears in the shootout to seal their tenth win of the season, with quarterback Aaron Rodgers putting on an impressive performance that has forced the team as a whole to up level. Although odds are fairly slim for a win, the Packers remain third favourite in week fifteen – but there’s still time for that to change before the close of the NFL season.
New England Patriots
Although they didn’t play last week, the Patriots’ odds to win the Super Bowl 2022 are looking as good as they ever have, having shrunk again in week 15 to place them fourth in the table of favourites. Whether or not Bill Belichick’s team can actually pull off a win remains to be seen, but stranger things have happened, even with a rookie starting quarterback.
Arizona Cardinals
A loss to the Los Angeles Rams in their latest game saw the Cardinals’ odds surge, and with quarterback Kyle Murray putting on a poor performance throughout, it seems unlikely that they could be in line for a win this year. Nevertheless, the team is currently tied with both the Buccaneers and the Packers for the best record in the NFL, which stands at 10-3 – so we’ll have to wait and see how the landscape changes as we head towards season close.
