Nestled in the north of the African continent, it is nevertheless widely considered to be a Middle Eastern country due to its adoption of the Arabic language and culture, and has become a popular bucket list destination thanks to ancient sights like the Pyramids of Giza in Cairo, where ancient Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamuun was laid to rest – as well as attracting scuba divers and snorkellers from around the world thanks to its vibrant reefs and marine life.

It’s now open and welcoming tourism
Having initially launched its reopening plan back in May 2020, it has taken until now for hotels and resorts to begin operating at 100 per cent capacity again – and now, with low numbers of Covid cases in popular resorts like Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada, most of the red tape surrounding visiting this breath-taking cultural destination has now been removed. With almost a million tourists from across the globe making their way to Egypt last year in spite of the ongoing pandemic, the fact that Covid cases remained almost at zero has meant that traveller confidence has remained high – so if you’re looking for a relatively stress-free getaway where all-out luxury is guaranteed, then look no further.
It enjoys a warm climate, year-round
One of the great things about Egypt is that any time of year is a great time to go – so if you’d prefer to avoid the summer crowds, then an autumn or winter break is a great excuse to escape the wet, windy and cold weather back home and indulge in an opulent luxury holiday, checking in at one of the nation’s finest five star hotels for some all-out R and R. Granted, it isn’t exactly hot during the winter months, but it never drops lower than around 19-21 degrees celsius in popular destinations like Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh – so if you’re eager to explore the nation’s cultural sights, such as the impressive Pyramids of Giza, or experience the breath-taking underwater coral reefs without the oppressive heat, then December and January are a great time to go.
If, on the other hand, you’re a sun worshipper through and through, then rest assured that the beach resorts in Egypt are never in short supply. Average temperature highs range from 27° in March, all the way up to 36° in September.
