A luxury hotel has recently opened on a Northern Italian lake offering stunning views and a contemporary boutique design.

Meliá Hotels and Resorts has opened its fifth Italian property at Ceresio Lake on the border between Southern Switzerland and Northern Italy – Meliá Campione.

The hotel boasts a restaurant, Dolce Vita, which offers an extensive range of Mediterranean inspired dishes, served alongside delightful views of Ceresio Lake. Using fresh, seasonal ingredients, the restaurant serves a daily international buffet and a la carte menu paired with an extensive wine and Champagne selection. Open to both guests of the hotel and visitors, Dolce Vita is quickly becoming a landmark for traditional Italian aperitifs.

A short 10 minutes from the city centre of Lugano, Meliá Campione’s 40 rooms and two suites are designed to captivate the picturesque location of the hotel with floor to ceiling windows framing the Alps and lake. Each room is equipped with a flat screen TV, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. All hotels pay close attention to sensory design coupled with fresh and welcoming decorations, balancing aesthetics and design functionality. Meliá Hotels feature a VIP experience called ‘The Level’ that offers a private lounge with open bar, exclusive room accommodations, special in room amenities and the finest service.

A luxury Wellness and Fitness centre will be introduced to the hotel later this year and will provide a steam bath, sauna and gym along with a wide range of spa treatments.

We now have five Italian hotels located in Capri, Genoa, Milan and Rome, with a sixth property to open in Sicily in 2016. With such a beautiful location, halfway between Switzerland and Italy and on the shores of Ceresio Lake, we believe that Meliá Campione will be very popular with tourists looking to uncover the natural beauty of the Italian lakes. We look forward to welcoming our guests.”
