Ducati enhance the riding experience with their Multistrada App

By Grace Cunningham   |

Ducati have unveiled the Multistrada 120 S as the first Ducati motorcycle to feature Bluetooh technology as a standard combining the technology from the vehicle, smartphone, sativa and helmet via the Ducati Multistrada Link App.

The Multistrada Link records and displays both rider and motorcycle performance during the ride, information on ride and route and let users share the travel experience on social media. The app has many functions including the ability to check the motorcycle status (fuel level, riding mode usage percentages, distance ridden) and to keep a detailed log on previous rides and routes. The data is collected from the motorcycle before, during and after a ride via Bluetooth technology which then connects to the vehicle Controller Area Network (CAN).

From learning the optimum lean angles to recording maximums and averages of power delivery and speed the app enables the rider can review each ride. After the ride is complete the app also informs the riders to whether any targets have been achieved and this can then be shared with friends which can be enhanced with the ability to add photos and descriptions to the journey indicating the best riding mode to use on the route.

Ducati Multistrada Link App is currently available on iOS operating systems (available on the iTunes app store) with the app in development to follow on Android.
