A ONE-OF-A-KIND collection of 1980s and 1990s Versace jewellery from the Versace House has been brought to the UK and is on display in the East Midlands.
The mother-daughter team behind Nottingham’s newest designer boutique, Gigi Bottega, stock this 700-piece jewellery collection at their city-centre store, which opened in September.
Debra and Gabriella Trivigno sourced the pieces while in Milan and consider themselves extremely lucky to be the only the only shop in the world to stock the incredible collection, which was designed by Versace before his death in 1997.
Gabriella said: “When our supplier in Milan contacted us saying that he could get hold of the collection from the Versace House we couldn’t believe it. We were so impressed by the quality and style that we spent far more than we should have done to get hold of them all.
“Each piece is hand-made and intricately designed – they’re real showstoppers and you won’t find anything else quite like it.
“Gianni Versace is best known for his costume jewellery so this collection of necklaces, belts, earrings, rings and bracelets is particularly stunning and a true testament to the Versace name.”
The ‘vintage new’ collection has been kept in the archives of the Versace House since its creation, having been only used for runway shows and photoshoots. Now the pieces have found their way to Nottingham and Gigi Bottega, located at 15 Flying Horse Walk, is a boutique synonymous with Italian luxury so ideally suited to stock the exclusive collection.
“Because the collection is cotillion it is an exclusive selection of pieces that have not been owned by anyone else. Prices range from £250 to £1400 and there are a number of sizes available – as we have numerous belts which obviously have to come in a variety of sizes,” added Gabriella.
“Each piece of jewellery is unique so describing the collection as a whole is very difficult. The collection is a mixture of both gold and silver pieces, some encrusted with diamonds and some have the well-known Versace medusa head featured. Each item is different – some more subtle than others and some are real head turners that couldn’t possibly go unnoticed. They are truly beautiful and are of the highest possible quality, I’ve never seen anything quite like them.”
