It is said that King Charles is ‘partial to a martini before dinner’, although he prefers his dry with a bit of Vermouth mixed in, not to mention, he always travels with his own glass. With the upcoming coronation of the future king of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, people across the country are preparing for garden parties to mark the ascension of the first monarch to the throne in over 70 years. And no party spread will be complete without some exotic beverages to toast the newly crowned King Charles and his Queen Camilla.

Stepping up to this challenge and taking the hassle out of preparing a toasting tipple is Soho Street Cocktails. Their ready-mixed 1.5 litre pouches of cocktails range from Strawberry Daiquiri, Porn Star Martini, Espresso Martini, Pina Colada and Cosmopolitan to cater for a variety of tastes.

Sipping one of these cocktails can really add a touch of glamour to a celebratory occasion. And hot on the heels of the coronation is World Cocktail Day on May 13. Indeed, Oscar Wilde once mused: “Hear no evil, speak no evil, and you won’t be invited to cocktail parties.”

Soho Street Cocktails has a variety of ready-made cocktails to get your soiree off to a flying start. Porn Star Martini, with a dash of passionfruit, is a cheeky little mix guaranteed to turn some heads. As Britain’s most popular cocktail, the porn star martini is a concoction made with vodka, passion fruit puree and vanilla. It is traditionally accompanied by a chilled shot glass of prosecco, invoking a touch of glamour to any occasion. The cocktail was created in 2002 by Douglas Ankrah and is not a true martini, but one of the many drinks that incorporate the term martini into their names.

Meanwhile, the Espresso Martini is another drink that incorporates the term martini into its name but is more of a vodka espresso, a cold caffeinated alcoholic drink made with espresso, coffee liqueur, and vodka. It was invented by Dick Bradsell, supposedly at the request of model Naomi Campbell. It is not a true martini as it contains neither gin nor vermouth. The Soho Street variety comes in a 1.5-litre pouch.

The Strawberry Daiquiri is the perfect summer cocktail and Soho Street’s version tastes wonderful chilled with some fresh berries. The rum-based drink, blended with strawberry and lime juice is one of the Caribbean’s most popular drinks.

Meanwhile, you can’t beat a classic Cosmopolitan for an elegant drink, made with vodka, Triple Sec, cranberry juice, and freshly squeezed or sweetened lime juice. Then there’s the Pina Colada made of coconut milk, pineapple juice and Caribbean rum. Each cocktail looks and tastes like it’s been freshly mixed. Furthermore, the cocktails come in recyclable pouches, which stay fresh for up to six weeks after opening.

Soho Street Cocktails is named after the London suburb which is famed for its jazz clubs, coffee houses and cocktail bars. Founders Paul Scarratt and Grant Walker launched the company in 2020. Paul has led some of the country’s biggest beer, wine and spirits businesses for over 25 years and Grant pursued a surveying career in and around Soho, before heading up a company that puts the sparkle, fizz and froth into bar drinks.

Overall, if you are looking for an elegant beverage to share when you gather with friends, look to Soho Street Cocktails.
