We caught up with Inanch Emir, one of the UK’s most influential celebrity hair stylists and hair enhancement specialists.
She is the founder of the multi-award-winning London hair and beauty salon, Inanch, and is also featured in ‘The Hall Of Fame’ for being the only UK hairdresser to win the best extensionist accolade for three consecutive years at the prestigious Hair Awards.
My car of choice
VW Beetle, I love absolutely love this classic car – especially the convertible model. They come in gorgeous colours and are such classy cars. I would choose bright blue with cream leather interior. Unfortunately, they have stopped making them now, but I’m sure they will be back in production again one day and I will be first in line to get one.
My favourite holiday destination
One that I haven’t fulfilled as yet, but its on top of my wish list, is the Maldives. I love the beach and I don’t think you can get better than The Maldives. The beach bungalows look amazing – I have my eye on The Four Seasons resort which looks like heaven on earth.
Other than that, I love visiting Los Angeles, it feels like a home from home when I visit. I love the weather, the beaches, the shopping and the people I meet are always really fun, interesting characters. I would love to open a salon in L.A one day.
My gadget I can’t live without
It’s a bit of a predictable answer but probably my Apple iPhone – not for leisure reasons, but for work. It’s a love-hate gadget as it means I’m also always on call. I have the latest iPhone 14, which is great, it’s so easy to use and sync all of my work.
The latest gadget at work, which I absolutely love, is the new GHD Duet. It dries and straightens in one, without any damage – a real game changer. It’s really popular in the salon.
My go to fashion brand
My favourite brands are Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Botega. If it has to be one then Chanel takes the lead but I love all three brands for their beautiful designs and quality. I have some stunning, timeless pieces from these brands, they are my go-to pieces which never seem to date. I don’t think you can beat Chanel for their ‘little black dress’ – they fit beautifully and are very flattering. Everyone needs a little black dress.
My airline of choice
I flew with Air New Zealand once and found the experience to be very pleasant, the plane and seats felt really roomy and the service was brilliant, very attentive – I also love their uniforms. Turkish Airlines is also a favourite and one I fly with quite often.
My favourite watch brand
It has to be the one and only Rolex for sure. Reliable, stylish and a solid investment, it’s the most timeless timepiece ever made and the quality is amazing. I have owned mine for a few years now and it never looks old or dated.
My favourite restaurant
I have quite a few, I love food and dining out but my favourite and most recent discovery is the Novikov restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental in Istanbul. Serving the most delicious cuisine in beautiful surroundings, the Novikov is an innovative fusion of East and West Cuisine and it honestly serves some of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. I can’t wait to return. I would highly recommend staying at the Mandarin Oriental if you get a chance, it’s pure luxury.
My guilty pleasure
Chocolate, I love it. My ultimate favourites are Ferrero Rocher – I can’t consume just one, I have at least four – they are so addictive, the packaging feels so special as well. We always have them at Christmas – but they don’t last long. I also love (a box of) Guylian sea shells.
My favourite way to give back
I love my job and especially being a hair loss specialist, one of the most rewarding feelings is helping clients regain their confidence by giving them their dream hair – the feeling of seeing them delighted makes me happy too and is the best part of my job. I have many clients who are struggling with mental health issues due to their hair loss, they have lost themselves and sometimes are unable to live a normal life – making them feel beautiful, boost their self-esteem and watch them walk out of the salon happy is the best feeling in the world.
