Not making the bathroom relaxing
As well as serving a number of purposes, you want your bathroom to be a place you can enjoy – and relax in. Some colours – bright or hot colours – are less relaxing than others, and clutter can also distract from an otherwise relaxing space. To make sure your bathroom is relaxing, make sure you pick relaxing and calming colours, such as light blues and peaceful greens. Remove clutter and store it away, and keep most of the surfaces clear and tidy.

When you spend a long time designing your bathroom, you can be forgiven for thinking that once you’ve finished the main fixtures and paintwork that you can relax – job complete. But your choice of accessories in your bathroom can have a big impact on the overall look and feel of your bathroom. You can choose sets, or unique styles of the following: mirrors, bath mats, waste bins, scales, soap dishes and dispensers. If you have an overarching colour scheme, it can be particularly useful to pick some of this out in the accessories, or keep these crisp white and let the walls do the talking.
