I was accorded a warm welcome at the airport by the chauffeur and Debmaullya Chowdhury from the hotel’s team. I was pleasantly surprised to see an elaborate cheese platter in my room when I checked-in. Executive Chef Aniket Das recommended that I try the local cuisine and dished up a delicious portion of Bissi bele bhaath (a mixture of rice and lentils South Indian style). I went for a relaxing spa session at Scent Spa which was followed by a fabulous meal at the rooftop restaurant. It was very thoughtful of Operations Manager, Sanjeev Mandal to organize a day out for me during my stay. I was accompanied by Devyani from the hotel’s team to watch a movie at the Orion Mall and got to spend a fun day out at the mall and multiplex.
White Smoke Barbeque, Bangalore’s newest hot spot, located in the Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru Rajajinagar, combines the excitement of fusion cuisine with the universal appeal of the grill for a restaurant unlike any other. Billed as an organic, fusion wish-grill, this hotel restaurant in Bengaluru, India relies on fresh, organic ingredients that are sourced within 100 miles of the property. That translates to experiences like tucking into Goan sausages or sampling sashimi-grade yellow-fin tuna from Lakshadweep as diners explore the fusion-style menu. The restaurant’s primary influence may be the Eastern Mediterranean, but its dishes hail from all over the world. So diners are as likely to order tandoori salmon and paneer as Greek halloumi cheese, lamb chops (a house special) and minestrone soup. Where the restaurant really breaks away from other Bengaluru catering options, however, is in its egalitarian approach to cooking. Executive Chef Aniket Das maintains a carefully edited menu, but he welcomes input from diners who want to explore epicurean possibilities. To that end, visitors can pair herbs and marinades of their choice with striploin, tenderloin, tiger prawn, salmon, basa fish, pork and lamb, as well as several vegetarian options.
Even less adventurous diners may be moved to try something new given the restaurant’s inspiring location. Positioned alongside the sparkling pool with the sky above and the city stretched out below, White Smoke Barbeque encompasses earth, air, water and fire in ways both visual and gastronomic for a rooftop dining experience that inspires all the senses. White Smoke Barbeque’s approach also resonates with that of the hotel, which has quickly distinguished itself among business hotels in Bengaluru. Guests enjoy the property’s sophisticated style (think clean lines, rich accents of wood and an uplifting color palette) as well as its range of amenities like complimentary, high-speed Internet; a fitness centre; a business centre and, of course, two restaurants that redefine the city’s culinary landscape. On day two, the talented Chef Aniket Das dished up a delectable Bengali meal for me on request.
The Market located right next to the front desk is a unique concept by the Fairfield by Marriott and is a great place to go shopping as it offers everything at MRP. So whether it is books, gifts, show pieces, snacks, souvenirs, everything is available in the Market.
A stay at the Fairfield by Marriott Rajajinagar proved to be a fabulous one owing to the warmth and hospitality of the hotel’s team.
