Tamarind Kitchen menus present a stunning array of fish, meat, game and vegetarian dishes — many of which arrive fresh from the kitchen’s authentic Tandoor oven. Tantalising tastebuds from the moment you sit down, starter dishes include Makai Kachumber, a vibrant corn and vegetable salad lifted by a chat masala dressing and Karara Kekda, soft shell crab with potato salad and homemade pickles. The flavour explosion continues with irresistible kababs, such as the Game Platter, which serves tandoor-cooked quail, duck and guinea fowl on a bed of vermicelli.

Mains appeal to all palates and include Guchchhee Kofta, morel mushroom and pea dumplings in a spiced creamy sauce; Hydrabadi Gosht, slow-cooked lamb in a browned onion sauce flavoured with Kashmiri chilli, as well as a traditional South Indian Alappuzha Fish Curry with Kingfish and spiced with tamarind, mustard and curry leaves.

All dishes are accompanied by a selection of Tamarind’s signature rice, breads and dips.

Tamarind Kitchen is located in trendy Soho in central London

The 100-cover restaurant spans two floors, featuring a private dining room for up to twenty guests and a subterranean cocktail bar for late night drinking. Its interiors, designed by Russell Sage Studios, blend soulful touches (in keeping with the Indian kitchen concept) with the sophisticated — as befits the sister restaurant of the palatial Tamarind of Mayfair. And attention to detail has not been bypassed with the tabletop choices: each handpicked item reflects the modern diner’s appetite for simple, yet stylish elegance. Sourcing from four artisan producers – including Studio Mattes, a celebrated Belgium-based stoneware supplier – the plates have been carefully selected to show off the colours and curves of the forward-thinking Indian dishes

Set to be the destination of the spring, Tamarind Kitchen looks forward to welcoming diners to a rich and resplendent setting of quiet elegance to sample delicious, contemporary Indian dishes from the expertly crafted menus.
