Miami is a city renowned for it’s art deco architecture and creative diversity and with the art season now under way there is more to explore this year than ever before.
On the 13th December the Instagram famous “Museum Of Ice Cream” opens it’s doors at Faena Bazaar, Faena District’s innovative retail concept space.
This will be the museum’s fourth exhibition, following hugely successful launches in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, which attracted over half a million visitors from around the world.
The Bazaar will be transformed into a whimsical world of flavour and fun complete with tastings, interactive installations and colourful displays such as pools filled with sprinkles and ice cream statues.
The Miami Beach arts scene has two more exciting openings this year, with The Bass Museum Of Art recently opened after a $12m renovation, and the new building for the Institute of Contemporary Art this December, which is hailed to be a new museum, rather than just a building.

These original pieces include Damien Hirst’s ” Gone But Not Forgotten “, a 3,000 year old gilded woolly mammoth skeleton – casually overlooking the pool and beach area, as well as Hirst’s ” Golden Myth “– a golden unicorn sculpture standing in the domed ceiling of Pao Restaurant.
There are also works by Jeff Koons, Alberto Garutti, Gonzalo Fuenmayor, Manuel Ameztoy and Juan Gatti (who created iconography and murals which line the walls of the Cathedral (lobby space), which serves as a place for reflection and inspiration).
Faena is also home to a South American-inspired spa,fire kitchen restaurant Los Fuegos by Francis Mallman and Pao by Paul Qui restaurant, two bars and the Faena Theatre – a two level theatre and performance space.
