An experience tailored to the gourmet and art aficionado – London’s most opulent Chinese restaurant, Park Chinois has partnered with The Royal Academy of Arts to offer an exclusive lunch menu followed by tickets to the Charles I: King and Collector exhibition.
A celebration of the senses, this experience is lavishly brilliant from start to finish – marrying up some of the finest of Mayfair’s offerings as one. Stepping through the plush entrance of Park Chinois, the palatial interior mirrors something that Charles I may have taken to himself. Exhibiting some of the Asian restaurant’s signature dishes, guests of this new experience can select from either two of three courses. Regally presented and dishes fit for royal consumption, elegant options to start include the chef’s selection of dim sum with one exceptionally delicious black truffle dumpling, salt and pepper squid with papaya salad, wasabi prawns or a succulent serving of bang bang chicken.
Main courses of this curated menu are a collection of hybrid Chinese favourites with European flair that have been tailored toward the Mayfair set. Sweet & sour corn fed chicken is delicately served with caramelised pineapple, heritage tomato and padrón peppers. Grilled XO black cod with king soya follows with Cantonese roast duck à l’orange sauce and poached wild sea bass fillet in ginger and soya.
Having entertained tongues with lunch at Park Chinois, tickets are dropped on our white table cloth ahead of a five minute walk to The Royal Academy of Arts and the lead exhibition: Charles I: King and Collector. Arguably England’s most prestigious royal art collector, Charles I in his time accumulated an extraordinary collection of the world’s finest paintings from across Europe. Marking the official reunion of this vast collection, the exhibition includes over 100 works of art, ranging from classical sculptures to 17th-century paintings and from exquisite miniatures to monumental tapestries.
