Hotel Review: Seven Pines Resort Ibiza, Ibiza in Spain

By LLM Reporters   |

Travel writer and spa expert Lorelle Williams checks into this luxe bohemian getaway.

Perched on the tip of a cliff overlooking blue Balearic waters and surrounded by evergreen conifers is the newly opened Seven Pines Resort, Ibiza. This five star secluded gem, which covers 56,000 square metres, is the newly tipped place to stay for anyone visiting Ibiza and I was given the chance to spend a weekend there just weeks before its official opening.

The location

Situated midway between Cala Conta and Codolar, the resort is a 25 minute drive from Eivissa Airport. Alternatively, Yacht-based transfers can be arranged on request. The area itself is one of pure natural beauty, with the sea at one side and a pine forest to the other and several hidden beaches are within walking distance from the resort.

The suites

The resort boasts several different types of suites, each surrounded by tropical gardens and set out in little village like arrangements. The Lagoon Suites are located in the heart of Seven Pines, with balconies overlooking the lagoon style pool. Several of these suites, including the one that I stayed in, have their own swim up pool in their private garden.

The Cliff Suites- which are the largest of all suites –are made up of four two-bedroom Suites with private gardens and pools and have the best view of the sunset and sunrise.

The laid back vibe at the resort is enhanced by light filled spaces

The décor

Paying respect to the islands authentic design, Seven Pines Resort has a bohemian feel. The white washed buildings are splashed with bright hippie-like colours and pine wood tones while natural light pours in through the French doors of each building.

In the centre of the living room of my spacious lagoon suite, a bark coloured couch was scattered with green and blue pillows to represent the sea and trees surrounding the resort. Brightly coloured fruit sat in the wooden fruit bowl on the wooden coffee table, next to bright clay mugs and a modern espresso machine. The cupboards were stocked with wine, beer and soft drinks as well as tins of locally grown flavoured nuts, crisps and truffle flavoured popcorn.

The living room’s French doors led to my own private garden. At the top of the garden was a wooden porch, large enough for two deckchairs and a table for two to dine alfresco. The porch led onto a stone path which stretched out through the grass and flowers into my own private pool with a small waterfall at the top and banana trees at the bottom.

Back inside the suite, my bedroom had a king sized bed with starch white sheets and patterned turquoise curtains hung over the floor to ceiling windows, emphasizing the bohemian vibe of the resort. There was a wide flat screen TV at the bottom of the bed and the wooden bed-side tables were minimalist with nothing on except a bottle of water and an alarm clock that resembled a grey pebble.

Connected to the bedroom was the en-suite bathroom – white with a wooden floor, made up of a bidet, a large white sink and wooden cupboard, a toilet and a spacious glass shower area.  Hung on the wall were two white Seven Pines robes and two pairs of Seven Pines flip flops. The overall feel of the resort’s design is one of bohemian simplicity to reflect the surrounding natural environment.

The Pure Seven Spa terrace has open views across the sea

The spa

The 1,500 square metre Pure Seven spa is one of the highlights of the resort. It has six treatment rooms (including aesthetics treatment rooms), a thermal circuit (steam bath, sauna, cold mist and water bed), meditation classes, ‘breath work’, pilates and yoga classes.

The holistic view is paramount for the team at Pure Seven. All products used at the spa are made with local ingredients such as Ibiza salt, local herbs and citrus and the treatments on offer are all personalised to address the needs of each individual guest.

The array of treatments available combine ancient practices from around the world, including Indian Ayurveda Medicine and Oriental methods combined with a European touch. Some of the holistic treatments on offer include acupuncture, ear candling, physiotherapy, and osteopathy and oxygen therapy.

During my visit I experienced the Pure Seven Signature Massage. This used lavender and sweet orange essential oils by Neom alongside hot stones to relax my mind and body. I was then given a full body Balinese massage, realignment stretches and a scalp massage.

Fostering all round physical, mental and emotional health, Pure Seven spa offers four wellness programmes: Wellness Detox Programme (available as a 2 day or 6 day retreat) which aims to destress and reset, a Get Fit Programme (available as a 6 day retreat) which aims to kick start a fitness journey, Weight Loss Programme (available as a 6 day retreat) which uses a bespoke nutritional plan alongside a mental and physical toolkit to encourage progress in weightless, and a Rejuvenation Programme (available as a 2 day retreat) which targets facial skincare and revitalisation).

Meditation and yoga classes are amongst the facilities on offer at Seven Pines Resort Ibiza

Other wellness facilities

The resort’s wellness offerings go well beyond the spa. In keeping with its holistic approach, the Pure Seven spa supports both the physical and mental wellbeing of guests.

Activities on offer include cross-country biking and water sports including paddle-boarding, water-skiing, sailing, diving and yacht excursions. The staff at the resort cannot do enough for their guests and will happily put together itineraries upon request.

Sustainability at heart

Out of respect for the nature surrounding the resort, Seven Pines has put sustainability at the heart of everything on offer. The spa is plastic free and uses only paraben free and vegan products. Where possible, the hotel uses locally sourced, seasonal, organic produce and the kitchen’s stoves have zero carbon emissions. Even the tinned nuts in each of the suites are locally sourced! The resort’s home delivery service uses bikes to deliver food and the tableware is bio-degradable.
