Step inside: Contemporary meets country in this newly renovated luxury family home

By LLM Reporters   |

Margi Rose Designs, the boutique interior design firm operating across Hampshire and London, have revealed their latest renovation project – an 18-month long transformation of a 4-bedroom home in Hartley Wintney.

The project was personally overseen by the founder of the company, Margi Rose and the brief for the project was to design an open plan living space that felt luxurious and stylish, but also practical for modern family living. The property was stripped back, reconfigured and extended to create a home that felt capacious.

“We worked really hard on the layout of this project to truly maximise the space available. Each square metre and its use were carefully considered – whether that was through creating a unique reading nook underneath the staircase or designing joinery with storage to transform and elevate certain rooms,” explained Margi.

When creating the look, it was imperative that the final design would stand the test of time.

The founder added: “Whilst the feel of the property is largely contemporary, the country edge gives it a somewhat timeless feel. As with all our projects, it is really important to get this balance right. The colour palette in this home is understated, the furniture and finishes – classic – all of which have been chosen to meet our core principle of ‘will this still be relevant in 20 years’ time? Using that as our basis, we then had freedom to inject a bit of fun and personality when it came to layering fabrics and accessories.”

Margi talks us through her favourite aspects of this completed home:”For me, there are three central areas. Firstly, the kitchen/diner – I especially love the sandstone tiles, the kitchen design and the masses of light. This area serves as the main artery to the rest of the home, so its function had to be paramount.

“Secondly the stairs, which we had commissioned. The oak combined with the Matt Black Balusters are a great combo and create a lovely relaxed, but high-end finish.

“Thirdly – the downstairs toilet where the scheme is centred around a Harlequin wallpaper. For me, the WC is often overlooked but it’s a great way to make a bold statement and leave a lasting impression with guests.”

Margi’s understanding of colour, textures and space have helped her to become one of the leading luxury interior designers within Hampshire. With clients throughout the county and the London area too, a schedule of new projects is lined up over the coming months.

From concept to completion, Margi Rose Designs offers a bespoke service to transform houses into homes, that reflects each and every clients style proudly, while balancing functional planning with transformative and inspirational design.
