Around every Las Vegas corner is an extravagant experience waiting for you. From shopping on the strip to luxury resorts, Sin City is the ultimate luxury destination in the U.S.
Often named the entertainment capital of the world, Vegas offers a plethora of activities, shows, top restaurants and adventures, all in a one-kilometre block. With a bounty of options, it can be difficult to narrow down the must-do, must-sees and where to stay. With that being said we’ve put together a guide on spending a luxurious 48-hours in Las Vegas to help you on your first or next visit to this wonderful, neon light-filled city.
Where to stay
The Las Vegas Strip is lined with big-name resorts from Waldorf Astoria to Nobu, but for those seeking the VIP treatment, head to the Four Seasons Hotel. As a symbol of luxury, the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas not only offers comfort, but also a superb location. Here, guests won’t find casinos, instead, they will look onto the famous glittering lights below, to the serene Mojave Desert and have access to an award-winning steakhouse, spa and exclusive entertainment at their fingertips.
For all gaming needs, the iconic Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is adjacent to the hotel, which makes it the perfect place to experience the best of both worlds. The Presidential Strip-view suite boasts wraparound, floor-to-ceiling windows and is a spacious sanctuary filled with bold colours, sleek furniture, and an Art Deco style. Book a well-deserved spa appointment and reserve a table at the finest restaurants for a true executive-style Vegas experience.
Where to eat
Vegas’ culinary scene has improved immensely since its early days. Now, guests will find celebrity chefs and imported rare snow beef, rather than steakhouses and red sauce joints. Pick a cuisine and, odds are, you’ll find it here, here are a few of our top picks for a world-class meal.
Head to MGM Grand for traditional French cuisine at Joel Robuchon. Diners will find a setting reminiscent of 1930s Paris and plates that have been awarded Michelin stars, year after year.
At Caesars Palace, diners will find Japanese cuisine from world-renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa. Indulge in A5 Japanese Wagyu, sushi, tempura, and teppanyaki-style dishes, all served in an earthy neutral-toned space. Another Michelin-starred establishment at Caesars Palace is Restaurant Guy Savoy, which boasts sweeping views of the Eiffel Tower and personalised table settings. The menu includes a range of Savoy’s signature dishes such as silky artichoke and black truffle soup.
If you find yourself near the Waldorf Astoria, head up to the 23rd floor to Twist by Pierre Gagnaire, a mixture of French and contemporary dining. The pinnacle here is the Lucky Number 7 tasting menu. Each menu is unique and based on the guest’s choice of wines.
Other notable dining establishments include Mizumi, Jean-Georges Steakhouse, and Blossom at Aria Resort and Casino.
Where to play
There’s no shortage of casinos in Vegas, but to help you filter through the flickering lights, here are our top casino picks.
If you’re a serious poker player, head to the Bellagio….. don’t take our word for it, the leading online casino LeoVegas believe it’s one of the best the city has to offer. They told us: “Boasting a sprawling resort featuring 3,000 lavish rooms and suites, this place doesn’t do things by halves, and if you remember its 115,000 square foot casino floor, which served as the setting for Hollywood blockbuster and robbery-heist movie Ocean’s Eleven, then we think you’ll agree that the Bellagio deserves a spot on the list of must-see places for anyone visiting Las Vegas.”
Caesars Palace is a classic gaming destination offering daily tournaments and a 14,000 square-foot poker room. One of the more alluring casinos is The Venetian Resort, which has gold detailing and frescoed ceilings that will make you feel like a high roller.
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is a relatively new addition to The Strip and has already gained a reputation for its gaming including classic table games, slots, and video poker machines.
Where to shop
Shopping in Vegas is almost as prominent as gambling in Vegas. The Strip offers an array of shopping centres housing couture labels from Prada to Yves Saint Laurent. At Crystals at City Centre, guests can shop until they drop, filling their bags with David Rockwell, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and Co., Tom Ford and more. It also offers restaurants from Wolfgang Puck to Mastro’s Ocean Club – perfect for refuelling.
For an ultimate luxury shopping experience, Via Bellagio houses a collection of the most high-end stores in the world, including Armani and Gucci. The hotel’s conservatory and botanical gardens boast some rather unique shops, such as Dale Chihuly, offering colourful glass art and sculptures from the artist. If you’re hunting for a fantastic retail destination, Fashion Show Mall has Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s and more under one roof.
One of the most attractive shopping destinations is in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. Here, visitors will find a canal that runs up the centre of the shopping area, in addition to cobblestone walkways, illuminated painted ceilings and the chance to hop on a gondola. The centre also offers big name brands such as Tory Burch, Burberry, and Michael Kors.
