Banyan Tree Bintan, in a secluded bay overlooking the ocean, is a hidden gem located on the northwest tip of Bintan Island in Indonesia – only 55 minutes, via high-speed catamaran ride, from buzzing Singapore.
The enchanting resort has teamed up with LLM – Luxury Lifestyle Magazine to offer a four-night stay for two people in a one bedroom Oceanview Infinity Pool Villa (due to the global Covid-19 outbreak this prize will not be able to be redeemed until the situation is under control and travel restrictions have been lifted).
Inspired by the traditional fishing villages on Bintan Island, villas are built on stilts to preserve the towering 100-year-old trees lining the hillside. Facing the captivating ocean, the tranquil Oceanview Infinity Pool Villa sits high on a secluded hill surrounded by the rainforest. Guests can spend the evening in a private infinity pool or unwind in an outdoor sunken bath. With personal dining quarters and a large living area, guests will leave feeling inspired, rested and rejuvenated.
A tropical island getaway, guests can hike in a rainforest teeming with giant trees and lush life, unwind and relax on the resort’s private beach, tee off on an undulating championship golf course and be pampered at the acclaimed luxury Banyan Tree Spa. Surrounded by the natural beauty of rocks and old growth trees, Banyan Tree Spa Bintan is at one with nature and harnesses local ingredients, such as kemiri nuts, across the carefully selected menu of treatments, such as the Balinese Boreh body wrap, a healing recipe of herbs and spices to bring skin to life.
Guests can also indulge in a range of dining options, from delicious Indonesian cuisine at Treetops Restaurant, to Mediterranean indoor or outdoor dining at The Cove, with fresh fish and dishes such as stone crab spaghetti, and Saffron, Banyan Tree’s signature restaurant, offering award-winning Thai cuisine with a modern twist.
Banyan Tree’s properties across the world have an impressive range of programs that support conservation, biodiversity, education and social enterprise for local communities. The on-site Conservation Lab at Banyan Tree Bintan nurtures eggs and hatchlings and releases baby hawksbill and green sea turtles (both species are endangered) when they’re about four months old. Thanks to education programs, local fishermen now report new nests of eggs, which are brought into the lab’s hatchery away from predators.
