Calling all the urban explorers – Page8 in the very centre of London is the perfect hotel option for you. Set in a prime location, right next to Trafalgar Square, this four-star hotel that aims to bring explorers together provides the perfect spot for exploring all that London offers.

Hotel

Page8 is the perfect base from which to explore London’s main attractions

A thoroughly contemporary boutique hotel, for Page8 it’s all about the lifestyle. As they’ve very suitably coined ‘The Home of Urban Explorers’, this hotel provides a perfect base to explore London. Conveniently situated between Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square and Charing Cross, all of London’s main tourist attractions are right on your doorstep here, from the neighbouring National Gallery to theatreland and Somerset House.

With a sleek, yet warm and inviting aesthetic, on entry there is Page Common, their very own artisanal coffeehouse offering a range of coffees, teas and light bites. This sits alongside a communal lounge area, an ideal space to check emails, book a tourist attraction or meet like-minded individuals while enjoying one of their delicious gourmet coffees. In addition, the accommodation features a 24-hour front desk and concierge services with on-point service by personnel who will go the extra mile to make sure your stay is fully catered to.

Page Hotels’ philosophy is to connect people to people and brand director, Philip Chan explains this notion: “Rather than building communities, we explore the different communities of the city and hopefully build bridges between those who are curious to those who are knowledgeable. Thus, the importance of Page Common Journal to our brand. As we aim to be a platform to inspire travelers and locals to embark on a journey of urban discoveries.”

Rooms

The hotel boasts 138 immaculately designed rooms that strike that balance between form, function and comfort

In total there are 138 immaculately designed rooms that strike that balance between form, function and comfort; the room types consist of double, twin, superior double, deluxe double and junior suite, right through to a large 34 sqm family room that holds two King size beds and accommodates up to a party of four.

All the rooms offer a very handy incorporated working space, as well as a flat-screen TV, a touch of luxury in the form of Marshall speakers, a private bathroom with C.O. Bigelow toiletries. Additionally, all the room options at Page8 have air conditioning and an air purifier, as well as a complimentary bar and the deep blue upholstered beds with bronze accents combined with marble touches around the room and crisp, white décor make for a smart and stylish space to reside.

Philip Chan added: “We have 6 types of rooms, as we want to be able to cater different types of travellers. The brand tends not to restrict its customer based on their age or purpose of travel, rather we focus the customers’ values. As we believe family, business or couple travellers, can all travel with the same value and that is to be able to explore the city in a different perspective. As such we try to provide high-quality stays with a combination of carefully yet simply designed rooms; ample, inviting and activated communal spaces that bring people together. A service spirit that is approachable and knowledgeable.”

Food and drink

Page Common is the hotel’s artisanal coffee shop on the ground floor

Page8 do coffee exceedingly well thanks to their artisanal coffee shop on ground level, which is a must-try. Have a coffee on the go, or kick back and relax in the lounge right next to it. Soon-to-launch is their rooftop restaurant, which will offer unparalleled views across central London.

“Travel and coffee are the two communities that Page Hotels are most particular about, thus, we are very serious about our coffee,” says Chan. “At Page Common, we designed the space to encourage guests and locals to interact with one another, where they are be able to share their travel stories and meet new explorers along the way. This is also a space where we try showcase our attention to detail. Through culinary dishes and coffee to the variety of indie books and magazines, we want their guests to experience a thoughtful experience rather than the routine.

“We believe we might have the most extensive range of travel guides in London, in hopes to inspire people to travel. As for coffee, we work with local roasters, such as Assembly, Plot and Colonna, to provide the one of the most extensive hand-drip coffee menu in London, whilst a coffee blend that we think works best with milk coffee. We have even done test and trails on different milk suppliers to work out what we think is best possible cup of coffee. Last but not least, we have done a lot of work on our tiramisu. The texture is velvety, as it resembles a melted ice-cream. Whilst our coffee blend and the sweetness of the cream just works really well together. We think we have the best tiramisu in town, as it is a constantly sold out item in (the sister hotel in) Hong Kong.”

Trafalgar Square is one of the many attractions for urban explorers to visit

The locale of this hotel really couldn’t get any better, suiting all of those whether travelling solo or with a family, to explore the sights of London. A perfect stay for all of those looking to explore all the delights of London, Page8 undoubtedly offers a stylish sanctuary for guests to return to and unwind after a long day’s exploring of the city.

On future plans for the hotel, Chan said: “We are currently recruiting a selection of retail shops that will go with the hotel brand. This will hopefully include retail and restaurant brands from HK. Along with the established restaurants, museum and theatres around the area, we will hopefully be able to create a new lifestyle destination for the locals. For Hong Kong, we created a HK city guide, and this is something we want to be able to carry out in London too.”
