Pebble Beach® Automotive Week’s launch line up is boasting some of luxury motoring’s most exciting launches of 2015 and Aston Martin have announced they will also be contributing to the mouth watering line up. Aston Martin have revealed that the new 2016 Db9 GT will make it’s global debut at the event accompanied by a glimpse at their Second Century plan including their DBX concept, Lagonda Taraf and Vulcan.
Offering world-class grand touring and hand-built excellence the DB9 GT is the most captivating production DB to date. With an uprated 6.0 litre V12 engine (with 540hp!) the DB9 maintains it’s reputation of combining luxury, excitement and engineering expertise to extract even more intriguing beauty and power within the DB9.
The ‘Second Century’ plan announced by Dr.Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin, is a strategy for the ongoing development and growth of the 102-yer old sport car maker, with mid-term actions including product development to drive growth of the brand. As part of the plan Aston Martin have confirmed that the DBX concept will go to production as the brand looks to expand into the luxury GT crossover market. Promising stylish yet comfortable yet practical and environmentally friendly attributes the DBX Concept is set to impress and strengthen Aston Martin’s portfolio.
Accompanying the DBX Concept is the 800+bhp Aston Martin Vulcan, which returns to North America after it’ New York Auto Show debut in April. The Vulcan was designed entirely in-house and hints at the future path for Aston Martin sports cars, with it’s front-mid naturally-aspirated, 7.0-litre V12 petrol engine and rear-wheel drive elements the influence of the brand’s rich GT motorsport experience.
Making it’s North American debut sitting alongside the DBX Concept is the Lagonda Taraf super saloon. Concise attention to detail is clear to see with the inspiration from the William Towns-designed 1976 Lagonda clear to the eye, along with the decision to hand-build the model along with same cutting edge engineering techniques used in modern Aston Martin sports cars. The Lagonda Taraf will be available to view to invited guests and customers at the Aston Martin Estate (13&15 August) and leading the way for Aston Martin at Quail : A Motorsports Gathering (14 August).
The Aston Martin Estate is an exquisite location with panoramic views across Monterey Bay providing the perfect backdrop for the elegance and beauty of Aston Martin’s latest sports car range. The estate will also host a variety of exclusive events including private viewings and test drives of the latest handcrafted high performance sports cars.
