Audi have combined luxury and Supercar pace in the evolution of the S8, the Audi S8 Plus. With increased power from the 520PS offered in in the current S8 to a eye watering 650PS whilst also being able to produce 720Nm of torque on demand – the highest output of any Audi in the current model range. Taking just 3.8 seconds from 0-62mph (making it the fastest S8 ever) the power is unquestionable with the full force transmitted to the road via an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive.
Tantalising to the eye for the UK specification model are the 21-inch alloy wheels in a unique high-gloss black double-spoke design shod with specially designed size 275/35 tyres. As your eyes peruse around to the rear your eyes fixate on the standard dual-branch sports exhaust system which opens out into two oval high-gloss black tailpipes on the left and right.
The overall black styling package including the Singleframe front grille, air inlets, window trims and mirror housings adds sleek elegance across the entire model. Distinctive characteristics continue with the dark theme with darkened tail lights whilst also featuring a rear lip spoiler in the body colour Audi really have thought of everything. From subtle S8 logos on both the front and rear, V8 T badges on the front wing and an exclusive matt-effect paint finish in floret silver available the final touches help to complete a truly breathtaking exterior.
Add in the Matrix LED headlights which project an extremely broad pool of light without causing glare to oncoming traffic and Audi have thought of everybody throughout the design. But Audi didn’t stop there…
Inside, the S8 Plus features sports comfort sport seats with 22-way adjustability and memory function which can be exclusively upholstered in black full-leather with contrasting stitching and piping in Arras red as an option. Further interior design include a contrasting woven red thread in the upper inlay, grey dials with white needles and stainless steel pedals carrying on with the dark yet stunning interior.
In addition to highlights like the power-operated hands-free boot lid, advanced key, 14-speaker BOSE surround system and advanced parking system with top view camera, the plus version gains privacy glass, power door closure and adaptive cruise control with Audi pre-sense front.
Completed with the unmistakable V8 sound which can be heard loud and clear when the ignition blasts into action with the modified quattro GmBH, Audi have created another must have for V8 lovers.
Ordering for the S8 plus will open in October, priced from £97,700 OTR, and first UK deliveries are expected to commence in January 2016.
