Audi unveil additions to the RS Range

By Grace Cunningham   |

Audi have unveiled additions to the Audi RS range with RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback ‘performance’ models that ramp power up to a colossal 605PS and torque to up to 750Nm.

Wearing the RS badge with pride their 45PS and 50Nm output creates a  supercar-challenging sprint time of just 3.7 seconds (an improvement of 0.2 seconds) whilst retaining the same best-in-class fuel economy and efficiency figures as their ‘standard’ equivalents.

Featuring a maximised eight-speed tiptronic transmission on both models, including D and S options or manual gear changes through the selector lever or shift paddles, it prepares you to embrace your inner racer.

Audi are set to include quattro permanent all-wheel drive, RS adaptive air suspension including Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) and Audi drive select on both vehicles allowing each ride to be customised to the driver and the roads ahead. Not only will the RS models power their way into the hearts of Audi fans alike they look breathtaking too. With 21‑inch cast aluminium wheels, centuated bumpers with large air inlets up front and the heavily profiled diffuser insert at the rear, the gloss black honeycomb grille typical of the RS models and the flared side sill, they do the talking with their exterior appearance as well as their performance.

Alcantara theme used throughout the Audi RS 7 Sportback Performance model.
The interior design in the Audi RS 7 Sportback can be seen to feature Alcantara detailing.

Heading inside,  the interior is distinguished by a quattro logo on the air inlet duct and matt titanium-look detailing whilst the RS super sports seats steal the show upholstered in a black and blue Alcantara and leather combination with a honeycomb pattern and matching stitching on the armrests which also extends to the control elements and floor mats. The entire interior is streamlined in Alcantara and sets the tone for the ignition of the engine.

Available to order in the UK from November, and scheduled for first deliveries here next February, the RS 6 Avant performance will be priced at £86,000 OTR and the RS 7 Sportback performance at £91,600 OTR.
