BMW have extended their x4 Series by introducing the BMW X4 M40i, a Sports Activity Coupe set to raise the standard with finely honed driving dynamics, a high degree of emotionalism and singular exclusivity.
The racer character oozes from accents of colour through the front panels, metallic Ferric Grey side mirrors, exclusive 20-inch M light-alloy double-spoke wheels with the optional Ultra High Performance tyre mix, a sports exhaust system with valve control, finished off with Chrome Black tailpipes. And inside it’s no different. Featuring an M leather steering wheel, M gear shift lever and sport seats, it encourages you to belt up and hit the road with a sense of power over the road. Add in the unique features including model-specific door sills and X4 M40i” digital lettering on the instrument cluster and BMW have only enhanced the X4’s racer aesthetics.
It’s not just the aesthetics that encourage you to get on the road, the newly developed M performance TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder petrol engine makes its world premiere delivering 265kW/360 hp from it’s three-litre capacity with a maximum torque of 465 Nm. With an acceleration of less than five seconds from 0-100 km/h and reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h it certainly matches it’s aesthetics with power.
When it comes to the road, when you combine the BMW drive four wheel drive system with its rear wheel-drive characteristics including Performance Control, increased front axle camber and adaptive dampers, it promises to deliver a smooth self-steering response and overall satisfaction in the drive.
The BMW X4 M40i is set for 2016 release with pricing and further details to follow.
