Frankfurt Motor Show is one of the undoubted highlights of the super motoring calendar and Ferrari took the opportunity to unveil several exciting developments.
First up they hosted their 488 Spider debut on the Friday with their highest ever performance Spider wowing the crowds. Boasting a 3902cc turbo-charged V8 and a Variable Torque Management system, providing torque delivery of up to 760NM at 3,000rpm, the 488 Spider provides an eye watering 0-100 km/h in just 3 seconds eliminating the typical ‘turbo lag’. With visual highlights including the RHT, high performance space frame chassis and the new Blu Corsa livery, the 488 Spider certainly caught the eyes of many.
Also on display at the show were two Tailor Made California Ts, the first featured the Grigio Titanio bodywork whilst the second referenced Ferrari’s sporting heritage with a modern take on the famous 1957 250 TR. A coupé 488 in Bianco Italia, a four-seater, four-wheel drive FF in an elegant Grigio Silverstone livery and 12berlinetta in Rosso Corsa were prominently catching the eyes of the crowds.
But that wasn’t all that Ferrari had to reveal. The prancing horse also revealed an extension of the Apple CarPlay system to the entire range with the FF the first model to host the system followed quickly by the California T. Soon to become available Apple CarPlay will be integrated in the sportier models including the 488 GTB, the 488 Spider and the F12berlinetta.
