McLaren are set to launch the 570S Coupé, the first model in the McLaren Sports Series family, this Autumn with the pre-production phase currently underway at the McLaren Production Centre in Woking.
This milestone marks the final stage in the development programme with a mixture of extreme tests undertaken around the globe. From the extreme heat of the Arizona and Nevada summer, the Arctic conditions common of northern Sweden in the winter and, of course, the changeable British weather covering over 500,000 testing kilometres.
The start of production is ready to begin at MPC and will see integration of the Sport Series into the production line along with the Super Series, demonstrating the flexibility of the MPC and ensuring the highest levels of quality expected from McLaren are adhered to and produced.
“The relentless drive for continuously improving quality within all business areas, with a focus on the pre-production phase, enables us to achieve a significant milestone which was set as a key target at the beginning of the programme. It is a real achievement by the different teams across the business that have helped progress to this point.” – Andreas Bareis, Executive Director – Quality at McLaren Automotive.
Deliveries of the Sport Series, starting with the 570S Coupé, will commence by the end of 2015 with the full family launch forecasted for the end of 2017.
Prices for the McLaren Sport Series start from £126,000.
