E-ride specialist Ride and Glide has been appointed as the UK’s exclusive distributor of Stealth Electric Bikes’ new and improved range of off-road and road legal e-bikes.
The Australian-made Stealth brand is recognised worldwide in the field of high-performance electric vehicles with the company promising that “the 2022 range is set to change the way we think about light weight personal mobility and off-road recreation”.
For 2022, Stealth has focused its attention even more closely on technology, reliability, and performance to create “a mechanically perfect range that makes the off-road riding experience even more exciting”.
The 2022 range includes the following models:
- P-7 and P-7R; turning a mundane commute into an adventure.
- F-37; taking trail blazing to the next level.
- H-52 & B-52 Bomber; the most powerful models in the range – for sunrise sessions in the suburbs or midnight motocross.
The new models feature technical improvements in several areas, from the CrMo monocoque chassis, providing a smoother ride, to the high torque direct drive hub motors used on the H-52, F-37, and B-52, which bring improvements in cooling provided by a combination of circumferential heat transfer fins and ferro-magnetic cooling technology.
The frame and swing arm on the H-52, F-37 and B-52 models have been completely redesigned with updated geometries and improved ergonomics to improve high speed stability with provide a more comfortable seating position for the rider.
Handling over rough terrain has also seen a significant improvement with updated suspension and the wheel diameters increased from 24 inches to 27.5 inches across all the models.
Stealth has dropped traditional MTB braking systems in favour of motocross derived brakes and 250mm rotors ensuring shorter stopping distances, more precise lever control and no chance of brake fade on gnarly downhill trails.
Throttle mapping and power delivery have also been improved to provide riders with more control and a much smoother ride.
NCM battery technology has been improved on the latest generation H-52 and B-52 models, to increase energy density and overall capacity and range by up to 25 per cent.
The B-52 no longer uses the traditional Suntour 9 speed Vbox, which has been replaced by Stealth’s proprietary Hex Box transmission. Tougher than ever, the Hex Box’s oil bath transmission provides B-52 riders with 6 pedals speeds, all controlled by a new electromechanical gear shifting mechanism.
Doing away with the old fashioned cable-operated gear shifter simplifies the system and has its own in-built in power source which will allow riders to continue to shift gears even after the main traction battery has been depleted.
With Stealth electric bikes, riders can experience nature without the noise and smoke associated with internal combustion engines, providing an altogether more pleasant recreational experience for anyone wishing to enjoy the open countryside.
As an extension to the next generation family, Stealth will be introducing L1eB road legal (or ‘homologated’) variants, known as the H52S, B-52S and F-37S, which fall into the same registration category as most 50cc motorcycles/scooters in the UK. The new ‘S’ models will benefit from all of the technical improvements made to the off road models with the addition of lights, indicators, mirrors, mudguards and registration plate in order to meet the registration requirements of the vehicle.
Stealth’s 2022 off-road range (P-7, P-7R, F-37 and H-52 models) are available to buy now from Ride and Glide, with prices starting from £5,399 (for the P-7) rising to £8,599 (for the H-52).
The B-52 (£9,499) and road-legal models are expected to reach the UK in June 2022.
The bikes come with a one-year warranty, supported by Ride and Glide’s fully-equipped service centre. Ongoing serving and repairs can also be carried out by Ride and Glide from their Sussex headquarters.
Ride and Glide will be demonstrating the new Stealth off-road models at the following events:
