To warm your cockles at Christmas, why not try this absolute classic, the Old Fashioned. The cherry juice and dark chocolate give it a sweet and decadent lift!
Ingredients
50ml Glen Moray Peated
12ml Maple syrup
Three dashes Bitter Truth Creole Bitters
One dash Ginger Bitters
1/2 teaspoon cherry juice
Hotel Chocolat 70% dark chocolate batons
Method
In a mixing glass, add half the whiskey, maple syrup, cherry juice, and bitters. Fill with cubed ice and stir. Add the rest of the whiskey, adding more ice until the drink is diluted to taste. Give it a good old stir.
Strain into a glass over a large single cube of ice and garnish with a piece of orange zest and three cherries. Garnish with a couple of squares or a baton of dark chocolate across the glass. This is a saloon worthy cocktail at home.
