The Perfect Lady is a traditional 1930’s British cocktail which has grown in popularity with the revival of Gin. A frothy yet smooth drink, the peach schnapps gives it a lighter feel to the White Lady. Serve it pre-dinner.
Cocktail expert David Gerrans, of The Whip in Mayfair, explains how to make The Perfect Lady.
Ingredients:
50ml Williams GB Gin (shop online)
25ml Lemon Juice
25ml homemade Peach Schnapps
1 farm fresh egg white
Method:
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake first without ice, this emulsifies the egg white into the drink. Next shake the cocktail with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Float orange bitters on the top.
Peach Schnapps recipe:
Add 4 ripe peaches to a jar and cover with caster sugar, seal and leave for 24 hours (the sugar will extract the juices from the peaches). Next add Chase Vodka until the peaches are completely submerged in liquid. Leave for 2 weeks before straining.
