The Landmark London, the five-star grand dame hotel based in London’s upmarket Marylebone, has a new addition to its diverse and standout drinking and dining proposition. Part of a major £1.3m refurbishment, the hotel has introduced a brand-new luxury champagne bar, aptly named Champagne Bar at The Landmark London, which is situated on its stunning garden terrace.
On entry to The Landmark London, guests are greeted by towering palm trees framing the iconic Winter Garden restaurant. Once within its walls, visitors marvel at the famed eight-storey-high glass atrium that has been at the centre of the hotel since its opening. Ascending one of the grand staircases to the first floor, visitors are welcomed to the glamourous champagne bar, which then vies and succeeds in stealing the show.
Designed by Alex Kravetz Design, the vision was to create a timeless space and visually stunning destination bar. The main bar, housed under an intricate, foliage-lined glasshouse, took inspiration from other iconic and historical grand dame hotels from across the world to create a modern, classic and awe-inspiring space. The furnishings and touches boast rich blues, greens, and golds, emulating a regal-hued, peacock-inspired colour palette.
Guests are welcomed by elegantly dressed hosts and hostesses and are guided to a seat either at the standout golden raised bar or the plush sofas and armchairs spanning the vast terrace. Whilst leafing through the menus, diners will enjoy twinkling piano music from the Winter Garden restaurant below. A romantic setting, diners can relax under in the dazzling sunlight during the day, or beautiful starry sky at night, visible through the glass atrium ceiling.
Offering a diverse and luxury range of champagnes, the space will also serve a light range of seafood-centric small plates, caviar, blinis and classic garnishes, desserts and the impressive ‘High Sea High Tea’ – a seafood-inspired afternoon tea – available Saturday and Sunday between 1pm and 5pm, serving fresh seafood sandwiches.
Highlights of the small plates menu include a ceviche of scallops with tiger milk, heritage carrots, and passionfruit, as well as Brixham white crab with avocado and tomato on top of a toasted crumpet anddrizzled with brown crab butter. Caviar choices span Golden Oscietra, Oscietra and Platinum. Platinum Caviar is the hybrid of the Oscietra and Siberian sturgeons – boasting an intense and robust flavour.
For those guests indulging in the ‘High Seas High Tea’ (£88 per person including a glass of champagne), they can expect afternoon tea classics with a seafood twist. The star of the show are the freshest seafood sandwiches, with filling choices varying from Cornish white crab, accompanied with miso, avocado and pink grapefruit; tartlet of poached langoustine, black truffle, cauliflower and fried capers or yellowfin tuna with ponzu and black sesame on toasted rye with fennel butter. Traditional and warm freshly baked scones follow with a selection of hand-crafted desserts from The Landmark London’s expert pastry chef Mauro Di Lieto.
The Champagne Bar at The Landmark London provides a standout guest experience unlike anything else in London. Offering gilded opulence from entry, a visit to the bar is a must-do when visiting the capital. As well as the all-new luxury champagne bar, The Landmark London is also home to the new Great Central Pub by Matt Fletcher, which serves a rotating seasonal dinner menu, and the Winter Garden which boasts a modern European menu and one of England’s finest traditional afternoon teas.
