This classic is thought to have been invented in 1938, created by the bar owner Carlos “Danny” Herrera at his restaurant Rancho La Gloria, in Baja California, a state of Mexico.
It came about as one of his customers, a known dancer at the time, was allergic to almost all spirits, except for tequila and this tasty cocktail ensued.
Ingredients:
5 cl Mezcal Amores Cupreata
3 cl FAIR. Kumquat Liqueur (this is the most delicious liqueur!)
4 cl lime juice
0.5 cl Agave syrup
Method:
It’s also very simple to make. Muddle together all the ingredients with ice and give it a good old shake in a cocktail maker.
Get a martini glass and run a cut lime around the rim, and dip in salt.
Then double-strain the alcohol into the martini glass.
