Introducing The Baptist at L’oscar Hotel in central London

By Lauren Kirton   |

The Baptist, a beautiful bar and grill set within the newly opened L’oscar Hotel, officially opened its doors to the public in September of this year. Situated in the magnificent domed chapel of the ex-Baptist Church headquarters in the heart of Holborn, The Baptist takes pride of place in the breath-taking and architecturally-significant Grade II building.

The Baptist Bar & Grill is located within a former twentieth century Chapel in Holborn

The extravagantly restored octagonal chapel, accessible through a side entrance on Catton Street, is formed of The Baptist Grill on the mezzanine level and The Baptist Bar on the ground floor. The delectable food is overseen by Executive Chef Tony Fleming, who joins L’oscar from Michelin-starred Angler.

Fleming, who trained under Marco Pierre White and the ‘Grand Masters’ of cuisine, said the hotel was “a one-off opportunity to be part of the creation of a great London destination” and his grill-focused menu will be guided by the British seasons with a classic and traditional approach.
