A hidden gem and firm favourite with islanders, Chiringuito is a chic beachside restaurant at Cala Gracioneta in San Antonio, Ibiza. Although a little off the beaten track, this venue is definitely worth a trip.
The vibe is ambient yet relaxed – perfect for laidback people watching, from one of the multiple pretty terraces.
Tables face on to a pristine, private sandy cove with still water, where anything goes. I wouldn’t imagine the staff would mind you strolling down to the water cocktail in hand, just to dip your toes. As with most white isle day-spots, music is well curated and spot-on for day drinking and dining.
Our group chose salmon with sautéed broccoli and snow peas, homemade burgers and a huge superfood lentil salad to share – all cooked to perfection. We ordered a huge slice of cheesecake to share, which was rich and moreish.
But perhaps the piece de resistance here are the cocktails. Served in a huge tumbler and with Havana rum, coco water and lime, it’s little wonder the Coconut Daquiri seemed the most popular drink with the crowd, followed by the venue’s Summer Cup a close second.
A beautiful place to prepare for one of Ibiza’s legendary nights, or gently recover from the next day.
