Drake & Morgan, the renowned bar and restaurant group behind some of London’s most popular bars, is heading North to open its first venture in Manchester.
Launching at the end of November, The Refinery Spinningfields is sure to be one of the autumn’s hottest openings. From replenishing breakfasts through to power business lunches, late-night dinners, cocktails, masterclasses and pop-ups, the new bar & restaurant will be an all-day escape for Manchester’s most discerning drinkers and diners.
Spread across one beautifully designed floor, fronted by floor-to-ceiling windows, the space has been carved into zones including a bar and casual dining area, a restaurant and a cornered off lounge separated by statement screens to give an air of exclusivity.
As with all of the Drake & Morgan sites, it’s the finishing touches that make the difference. Exuding an industrial sophistication, feature lighting and touches of colour and texture throughout are complemented by a carefully curated range of home and lifestyle wares. An outdoor terrace, accessorised with cosy blankets and hot water bottles, is perfect for people-watching.
The Refinery Spinningfields will be keeping cocktails above the standards of even the most demanding connoisseurs, serving up seasonally inspired concoctions influenced by the latest global trends.
The varied menu will have plenty to please. Small plates and mezze boards, ideal to share, will be available whilst larger mains – served from lunch to late – will come in the form of beautiful burgers such as the buttermilk chicken burger or wagyu beef burger. Superfood salads and classics such as hot smoked salmon with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes and pine nuts; parmesan crusted chicken with soft polenta, blistered cherry tomatoes; and lamb chops with crushed new potatoes and mint jus are just a few examples of the dishes diners can expect to find. Those with a sweet tooth can also indulge in a selection of moreish puddings.
The Refinery Spinningfields will channel everything people have come to love of a Drake & Morgan bar & restaurant with some extra surprise touches and experiences.
Drake & Morgan will open a second bar, name still to be announced, at One St Peter Square in Spring 2017.
