Mutti, the Italian’s favourite tomato brand*, has launched an exciting cooking competition to discover the UK’s most authentic and creative tomato cook. The UK Golden Tomato Cook competition will culminate in a live ‘Master Chef’ style final in London, in front of an esteemed panel of chef judges. The overall winner will not only be crowned the UK Golden Tomato Cook, but they will also receive an incredible prize of a trip to Parma, Italy, the home of Mutti.
Mutti passionately believes that every great recipe deserves a great tomato, and that there’s a perfect fit of tomato for every dish. Through this competition Mutti is inviting cooks in homes across the nation to get creative and discover the wide variety of dishes that it’s possible to make with its Essentials range – Polpa Finely Chopped Tomatoes, Peeled Tomatoes, Passata and Double Concentrated Tomato Puree.
To enter, cooks need to create and submit a delicious three-course menu (starter, main and dessert) with each dish using a different and perfectly matched product from the Mutti Essentials range. Menus will be judged on originality, presentation, and overall appeal. Five shortlisted menus will be put to the public vote before the three selected finalists are invited to cook in front of the chef judges during a live final at Sauce, by The Langham in London on 8th November 2021.
Zsuzsa Gosztola, Mutti marketing manager UK, Germany and Nordics, says: “Mutti stands for ‘uncompromised quality’ and using our products, you can make your dishes taste even more delicious. This year we are excited to launch our competition, with the aim of discovering how using the right quality and best fitting tomato can make the difference for your dish. We are thrilled to see British foodies and cooks showing off with their best tomato dishes. We can’t wait to see and try all the fabulous menus that are entered, and we look forward to crowning our UK champion with this very special and coveted award.”
The judging panel will consist of chefs Ben Tish and Paul Foster from Great British Chefs, chef Gabriella Margiotta and head chef at Mutti, Italy, Carlo Casoni.
The fantastic prizes consist of: A top prize of a trip to Parma, Italy for two people for five nights including accommodation, return economy flights, car hire and a cooking lesson with Carlo head chef, Mutti Italy.
