The sun is shining, the temperatures are slowly creeping up and the nights are getting longer which can only mean the holiday season is just around the corner. For those that dread the thought of a relaxation holiday we’ve tried and tested some of the best active-holiday products on the market to find our must-haves for both the summer and winter seasons.
First up, it’s the Kodak PixPro SP360 4K. Without doing a lot of research when thinking of action sports cameras the first that springs to mind is often the GoPro collection, however with a little less haste and a little more knowledge we came across the PixPro. Testing out its abilities in the highly renowned Hinterglemm resort, Austria, we saw the camera come into its own. Providing truly captivating 4K quality video with a 360 capture as a standard, the results were almost of a professional standard despite being used by not only an amateur skier but also amateur photographer.
Its easy to use interface and controls were an added bonus and once we navigated our way around the device it became second nature allowing us to focus on the challenge ahead. Adapting to various light, weather and motion conditions the PixPro makes a firm placing on our recommendations for any type of sporting vacation.

An important feature of an action-packed trip is to stay updated with your environment and to stay safe, which is where the highly recommend Samsung Gear S3 comes into play. Inspired ‘by the outdoors and a spirit of adventure’ the motto of this gadget plays straight into the theme and after taking it out with us to the slopes we were totally impressed.
Allowing us to leave our smartphones behind, the Gear S3 kept us updated no matter how high we travelled and thanks to its fairly lightweight components it also allowed us to forget we were wearing it. A panic for many is ‘what if we damage it whilst exploring?’ but the S3 has shock resistant properties banishing the fear before we even contemplated it. Other features also include a speedometer and a barometer aligning with its inbuilt GPS system. A reassuring feature was the SOS feature, which should you come into a spot of bother can alert people to where you are and that you’re in distress.

Finally, our surprising must-have came courtesy of Mr.Black’s Garment Essentials. Packing for an active trip can be difficult, especially with weight and at first we did wonder, was it going to be worth finding the space for a couple of bottles of effectively laundry products? However, once we’d spent our first day on the slopes and we removed our layers, the sport refresh spray came into it’s own and fast became my ultimate must-have product.
Turning used ski garments back into fresh-out-of-the-laundry scented items worked wonders for the re-packing and unpacking of our luggage, making what can be an unpleasant experience, less of a factor.
