There’s nothing quite like getting behind the wheel of a luxury supercar to make you feel like you’ve made it in life – and even better if you can switch up your wheels as you please. After all, there is no such thing as owning too many cars, and adding to your collection with each new launch is one of the greatest pleasures indeed.

But if you’re the indecisive type and prefer to try before you buy, then an iconic video game has got you covered, giving you a chance to take an epic range of cars for a spin without having to part with a penny first.

The latest update to the online behemoth Grand Theft Auto: Online brings to experienced players a brand-new, action-packed and rich heist storyline in the form of the “Cayo Perico Heist” (learn more about the heist itself here).

As is customary with these large-scale updates to GTA: Online, Rockstar Games have incorporated some breath-taking brand-new vehicles for players to get their hands on, and this the latest upgrade offers the very best selection yet.

Collecting and customising your own personal vehicles has always been the cornerstone of the GTA: Online experience, and long-term fans may remember grinding away on survival missions on the PS3 back in the day in a bid to save up for their very own Pegassi Zentorno – and the new updates aim to keep that same thrill alive years later in 2021. Here are some of the best vehicles that are brand spanking new to the world of Los Santos, giving you the chance to get behind the wheel from wherever you are.

Pegassi Toreador

From the outside, the impressive Pegassi Toreador looks like a cyberpunk-inspired classic sports car in the vein of beauties like the Lamborghini Marzal. And whilst this is true on land, with fans of the classic 1960s luxury cars like the Aston Martin Lagonda and the Lamborghini Espada feeling right at home here, the story changes as soon as the tyres hit water.

Like some petrol-powered mermaid, this car is an amphibious vehicle. Fans of the British car show Top Gear will be acutely familiar with that term, but Rockstar executes this concept with all the Grand Tourer classiness that is befitting of a certain Italian supercar maker.

With Pegassi’s submersible, booster-fitted sports car, taking your life and all its problems out to sea has never been faster. On land, this car performs like you would expect from one of these 1960s vintage classics, with decent handling and speed but average acceleration. Once you hit the water, you can drive this car in submarine mode: with its forward speed beating other measly submersibles in the game like the Kraken – and you can do so in James Bond worthy style.

Setting players back a cool $3,660,000, this sports car does not come cheap. But, for those mega-rich GTA: Online tycoons, Pegassi has created something really special here: even if it does cost the same as a penthouse apartment.

BF Weevil

Well, isn’t this one just adorable! Fans of the classic VW Beetle will be absolutely overjoyed with this clone of the German ‘People’s Car’. Ascending to its pop culture icon status around the 60s period, even the youngest of GTA: Online players are sure to recognise its iconic rounded shape and beady eyes.

The front fascia of this two-door sedan is based on pre-1954 models of the Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle, whilst the clean, Art Deco interior comes from the 1960s variant of the car. As is expected – and as indicated by Rockstar’s past realisations of classic cars in Grand Theft Auto V – the Weevil has historically suffered from poor braking and traction, but classic car fans will love its decent acceleration and top-speed regardless. It’s hardly a racing car, but it does feel quite nippy.

Strangely, it seems that Rockstar decided to make the Weevil one of only two non-muscle cars capable of doing a wheelie – perfect for getting off the start line in speed and style.

This car is available to purchase from Southern San Andreas Super Autos for $870,000 – but, if you complete all of the DJ Requests from Keinemusik as part of the brand-new free-mode jobs included in the Cayo Perico Heist update, you can enjoy a generous discount and get your hands on it for only $652,000. Beating all of Keinemusik’s missions also unlocks this ‘Love Machine’ livery taken straight out of 70s hippy culture, too – so in our book, it’s a win-win.

Annihilator Stealth Attack Helicopter

Now let’s get onto the serious big hitters – with this impressive US Marines Stealth Chopper coming top of the list. Billed as a stealth variant of the Annihilator transport helicopter, this brand-new vehicle gives one of the game’s most boring military choppers the ‘stealth prototype’ treatment.

Its real-life counterpart is the classic Marines darling, the UH-60 Black Hawk – a utility helicopter first introduced to the United States Military in 1979, which has seen active duty everywhere from Grenada and Balkans to Afghanistan and the Middle East. The variant GTA’s stealth chopper is based on is the ‘Black Helo’ modification believed to be used in the US Marine’s mission to assassinate Osama Bin Laden, so you can see why Rockstar wanted to pay homage to such an iconic military power-horse.

For super-wealthy players of GTA: Online, the Annihilator Stealth is a perfect way to make a grand entrance. Though, costing a whopping $3,870,000, it’s an entrance that doesn’t come cheap.

Get the cash to splash!

If you want to get your hands on some of these excellent new vehicles, but you’re just returning to the game or want to skip the ‘grind’, then we’ve got a secret for you. Through the trusted gaming marketplace Eldorado.gg, you can get your hands on GTA: Online money on the cheap. If you need $450 billion to get your (virtual) hands on the car of your dreams, you can get that for a cool $4.50 for the PC game – which is significantly cheaper than any SharkCard, and perfect if you need an in-game leg up so you can purchase your next beautiful Grand Theft Auto vehicle.
