Complement mossy hues with fresh neutrals
Tom Howley, design director of the eponymous bespoke kitchen company, said: “Green kitchens are having something of a moment right now. Perfect for your culinary hub, it’s a fresh colour with earthiness and depth that leaves you feeling nourished and full of life.
“Mossy hues may pack a punch, but they create a scheme with undeniable appeal when combined with burnished brass hardware and sleek white worktops. With such a bold cabinet colour choice, it makes sense to keep the worktop bright and neutral, complementing the space without detracting from the bolder palette.”
Marry dark and light
Caesarstone’s head of design, Mor Krisher, told us: “Dark worktops are a rising trend in kitchen design. Contrary to what people often think, black or dark kitchens aren’t always sombre or austere. Dark colours can be bold and dramatic or warm and cosseting.
“I’m a big fan of dark worktops paired with natural woods like oak or pale cabinetry and metallic accents like brass, copper or steel taps and handles. Pairing a dark surface with light cabinetry and flooring will help to keep the space feeling open and neutral. This is especially beneficial if you want to create a cosy atmosphere, but your kitchen isn’t vast in size.”
Uplift dramatic tones with modern white
Howley explained: “If you love bold colours, your kitchen could be the perfect place to employ a dramatic navy or rich aubergine tone. A tranquil deep blue or plum shaker kitchen superbly uplifts more rustic elements, such as a brick feature wall. Then white and cream accents, such as a sleek white marble-look worktop, can help to ground the scheme, creating a modern and fresh look.”
