Cheshire is renowned for its stunning homes – and a wealth of talented interior designers. One of the very best the county (and the country come to that) has to offer is Rachel Bates. We take a look at her rise to the top and explore her new online interior design and lifestyle boutique concept.
Rachel Bates is one of the UK’s most well respected interior designers. Having founded Rachel Bates Interiors in 2012 she has carved out an exceptional career in three short years, developing an outstanding reputation and spearheading a number of notable design collaborations along the way.
Based in Cheshire and with a design studio and showroom in Tytherington, Rachel has become a tastemaker and ambassador for the interior design industry outside of London and her popularity continues to gather momentum nationally and internationally.
In addition to her on-going private client interiors projects Rachel will launch an online interior design and lifestyle boutique, ‘Rachel Bates Elegantly Curated’. Set to go live at the end of November 2015, this will present a carefully curated collection of Rachel Bates own-label designs, exclusive collections from leading luxury brands and Rachel’s ‘edits’ from other distinguished designers.
Rachel Bates Elegantly Curated will also showcase Rachel’s special collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry such as Champagne Laurent Perrier, Clare Coles, And So To Bed and Little Greene.
The site will be a one-stop interiors shop and ‘a celebration of luxury.’
Steered by a long standing vision and recognising a gap at the highest end of the market for an interiors e-commerce offering of this kind, Rachel has spent two years creating and sourcing the perfect products to launch with.
Rachel has worked tirelessly to establish own-label designs, form impressive brand collaborations and secure exclusive collections so that Rachel Bates Elegantly Curated brings luxury consumers access to a range of thoughtfully chosen, exclusive pieces.
It will feature:
– Rachel Bates own-label designs
– Collaborations with leading luxury interiors brands
– Exclusive collections and Rachel’s ‘edits’ from other distinguished designers
At least 75% of the collections and collaborations will be exclusive to Rachel Bates Elegantly Curated.
The product range will continue to grow as Rachel forays into different areas, such as lighting, and unveils new collaborations with other exclusive, world-renowned luxury brands.
Rachel’s intention is that clients should be able to implement her style effortlessly into their own homes. A series of videos with personal styling tips from Rachel will show shoppers how to ‘work the look’.
Demonstrating how central the quality of craftsmanship is within Rachel’s collection, Rachel Bates Elegantly Curated will also host videos that showcase the manufacturing process of all the products.
Rachel is passionate that customers engage with how pieces are made in order that they appreciate the time and skill involved in the creation of these luxury items
Valuing craftsmanship and championing artisan skill, Rachel’s elegant design style prides itself on exquisite quality and appreciates the value of bespoke, handmade production. Rachel carries a very strong sense of colour through all her designs and her work can be recognised for its inherent vibrancy. Designs reference the elegance of a bygone era and are often inspired by nature – birds and botanicals appear throughout her collections.
Some small items will be available to purchase online. The majority of products are bespoke and will be made to order.
Lead times vary but as a guideline Rachel Bates furniture pieces can be made within six weeks and crystal and china within eight weeks.
Prices range from £37 to £30,000.
The Rachel Bates Interiors showroom in Cheshire is open by appointment daily 10am – 5pm.
