1. Warm wood
The idea of natural materials and patterns on key surfaces will make a beautiful pop against a simple background. Solid wood grain cabinets against clean white walls could pair for the perfect warm kitchen, that is both modern yet traditional and will look timeless.
2. Functional islands
People want more from their kitchen islands rather than an extra place to sit. It needs to hold other functions too, such as incorporating a workplace sink and more storage. On top of this, wrap around seating is a great addition, allowing for a more intimate feel for you, your family and guests.
3. Bold colours
A colourful kitchen is the perfect way to personalise your kitchen. The opportunities are endless, from funky wallpaper, bold accent colours or a unique backsplash. Playing with colour not only tailors the kitchen to your tastes, but creates a combination of a cosy and stylish kitchen, which is what most homeowners are after this year
4. Outdoors in
Incorporating nature as an extension of your kitchen is the perfect breath of fresh air to liven up your home, and by bringing the outside in, entertaining from home will become much easier as you can incorporate both spaces. By having natural elements in your kitchen as well having large bi-fold doors, or crittal doors for example will create the feel of a larger kitchen, so homeowners can feel more connected to nature/their outdoor space.
5. Sleek appliances
As the heart of the home, your kitchen is an important space to get right. When alternating with materials such as copper, or brass, a sleek sink is the perfect elegant touch to your kitchen. The rising trend of statement and sleek appliances using materials like stainless steel or brass, or even mixing materials is an exciting feature to watch in 2024 as it adds a distinct, custom touch to kitchen designs and serves as a focal point for the space.
6. Statement lighting
The interest for an understated and minimalist kitchen will be taking a seat this year. Instead, the desire for layered lighting and oversized or irregular statement pieces will be more desired in 2024 as they introduce a creative way to spice up your kitchen.
