In Tamarin, an easy 30-minute drive along pristine lagoons, you’ll find world-class retail, entertainment, banking, schooling and medical facilities, in fact everything you’d expect from an emerging smart city, that is growing and developing into an attractive centre in this popular region.
A designer home par excellence
While the estate and its surrounds conspire to create estate living of the finest order, your home will be a reflection of your personal taste and lifestyle requirements. To this end, Heritage Villas Valriche has collaborated with celebrated South African architectural, interior and furniture design studio Greg Scott + Partners (based in Cape Town) in the design of its limited-edition Contemporary Villas Collection.
Inspired by the estate’s sublime setting, Greg Scott lends his magical design hand to creating modern residences that boast a seamless indoor-outdoor flow, open spaces accommodating gorgeous natural light, well thought-out living, dining and sleeping areas, each characterized by immaculate attention to detail, and exquisite views of the sea, mountains or golf courses.
The choice is yours
Within the Contemporary Villa Collection, Greg Scott + Partners has created a selection of three off-plan styles: Glow Villas, Bliss Villas and Pure Villas. As their names imply, each offers something special, exclusive and magical.
The Glow Villa boasts an elevated position and, together with its two large wings and cascading tropical garden, offers extensive views of the estate.
The Bliss Villa is spacious and secluded, its ambience created from large, stylish timber screens that filter natural light between the garden and living spaces. Before entering the home’s generous interiors, you’re greeted by an installation garden of sculpted plants and trees.
The Pure Villa is an exceptional residence, maximizing light and space, and balancing indoor and outdoor areas. The design is all about perfect proportions, with each room reflecting a design sophistication integral to the needs of the discerning home owner.
Mr Scott believes Bel Ombre Estate and its historic chateau provide the perfect canvas to work with. “It’s so easy to find inspiration in this enchanting place and designing these new villas has certainly been a rewarding project in my career,” he says.
“Our role has been to design villas that make the most out of this unique environment and create a lifestyle that lives up to it. To achieve this, design concepts are no longer about living within four walls and a roof; instead, the idea is to dematerialise the spaces and eliminate the walls that hold us in. The design and materials aim to create the perfect Mauritian dolce vita.
Why Mauritius?
“At Heritage Villas Valriche, you’re invited to succumb to the charms of one of the most beautiful Indian Ocean islands, and create a living space that reflects who you are, a personal idyll where families grow and friendships are nurtured.”
Mauritius remains appealing to both investors and those wishing to own a home on the island for holidays or to settle down permanently. The country has been ranked as one of the safest places to live in Africa, boasts a high standard of living and world-class facilities, especially in terms of the growth of a number of smart city precincts. Most attractive, though, is that with purchases of real estate of US$375,000 or more, foreigners can apply for permanent residency status for themselves, their spouse, dependent children under the age of 24 and their parents.
With English being widely spoken and the presence of a large expat community on the island, settling here can be quite a seamless process.
Add to that a stable economy and benefits such as low company and personal tax (and no property rates and taxes), and you have more than enough reason to invest – not just financially but in your future – in this idyllic Indian Ocean island.
