Villaments, a combination of a villa and apartment, offer luxe living. Aruna Rathod visits two of the stylish, chic villas in Mumbai
Creating the perfect environment at your home or office is fundamental for you to being happier, more focused and relaxed. It is a proven fact that our environment can affect our mood, our productivity and our creativity. Keeping all the above points in mind, the Nahar Group in Mumbai has designed ‘villaments’ for sheer luxury living.
Located very close to the serene Powai lake in the swank suburb of Powai in Mumbai, the villas are spread over 4,600 square feet and are part of the building towers, but offer an exclusive villa-like ambience and feel, as they are designed so beautifully. Each villa is done up in an individual style and has it’s own private green spaces. Right from the entrance lobby, there is an exquisite attention to detailing and a personal touch that leaves you impressed as a visitor and rejuvenated as an owner.
Conceived and designed by Manju Yagnik, vice chairperson of the Nahar Group in Mumbai, the villas offer most modern amenities and international designs. “I wanted to offer international standards in Mumbai. Each villa is designed in an unique style, for instance, one is a European design, one is Balinese, one is country style. We have 16 in all,” says Yagnik.
A walk into spacious living room transports you into sheer luxury. Each corner, ceilings that are 12 feet in height, flooring in each room has been tastefully done up. Each villa has four bedrooms, a modern kitchen with a sit out in every bedroom. There are separate rooms for house help, a separate entrance to their quarters and some villas have a separate kitchen too. Each material, artefacts and furniture was decided by Yagnik and the care and attention to details shows in the décor.
Go Vintage
The living room of the Vintage style villa has classical lines. Stepping into the living room is stepping back in time– to an age of jazz, relaxation, and a decor to match. The classical lines of the chandelier perfectly match the art deco chest-of-drawers it casts its light upon. It’s a royal feel with cut glass, crystal, leather and wallpaper effects.
The master bedroom features a four-poster beautiful bed and an antique fan to match the decor. An exquisite chaise lounge stands before the elegantly mirrored wardrobes and the warmth and coziness of the fine wooden parquet flooring is well-suited to the grandeur of the room. The bed is flanked by vintage period lampshades. The master bathroom, with its exquisite fittings and mirrors, is a piece of art in itself.
Go East
The Balinese style villa has an exotic East meets the sophisticated West. Oriental hardwood flooring that sets off the rich brocades of cushion covers and curtain. The dining area features an extensively carved table under a spectacular contemporary chandelier. The house has classy Oriental motifs – serene Buddhist carvings– which go hand in hand with modernistic touches of decor.
A pirate theme kid’s bedroom is truly creative. The beds are in the shape of sailing ships. The aged planking of the wooden floor resembles a ship’s deck and antique flintlock pistols hang on the wall.
A private garden allows you to soak in nature. A cabana to relax in, to have a conversation with your partner or friends or to just tune yourself to the greenery around. A pebbled pathway leads through the lawn towards a lotus pond. Total bliss!
