The first of two penthouses by Angel O’Donnell

Throughout the penthouse there is always something to catch one’s eye – from the iconic Marenco sofa and delicately pivoting floor lamp in the living room to the handmade counterball pendant light and bar stools with elegant, tapering legs in the kitchen. Dusty pale green walls provide the backdrop for a series of richly pigmented colours: deep burgundy, juniper green, golden honey, and scorched clay; hues that can be found in large acrylic artwork, burlwood bedside tables and velvet headboards.
Add to this a painstaking attention to detail where a bespoke, ash-wood table base has been scorched to enhance its wavy, longitudinal grain – or a utilitarian Spade Chair, which has been combined with lively fabrics of geometric patterns. These precise finishes and detailed pairings abound throughout the penthouse – and the effect is mesmerising.

True artisanal craftmanship
The Kalinko collection, which has been handmade in Burma and designed for future residents and homeware design enthusiast’s alike, will enable individuals to emulate contemporary, sustainable and stylish designs within their own homes.
Inspired by the scheme’s unique architecture by Squire and Partners, interior design and proximity to Regent’s Park, Kalinko worked with Regal London to curate a collection that was truly reflective of everything that One St John’s Wood embodies, whilst celebrating true artisanal craftmanship.
Key pieces include a striking cane and wooden handcrafted chair, which has been made from reclaimed teak salvaged from Yangon, through to marble kitchenware which has been hand-carved by a local family in a town called Sagyin, Burmese for ‘marble’ just north of Mandalay. No two pieces are alike, and each item has its own bespoke markings, showcasing the skilled manual work of a chisel.
