With this in mind, the season ahead offers the perfect opportunity to splash out and celebrate the return of freedom in style – and what better way to do so than by placing some extravagant wagers on some of your favourite sports?
Win or lose, the champagne will be flowing, and with some thrilling events punctuating the sporting calendar for the months ahead, there’s rarely been a better time to take advantage of some of the best betting site offers from the likes of leading online platform Legalbet than now. With so many events to choose from, we’ve rounded up the best ones to mark in your diary now.
Motorsport: 24 Hours of Le Mans 2022
Taking place from 11th – 12th June on the famous Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France, this endurance focused sports car race is the oldest event in the world of its kind, and also happens to be one of the most prestigious in the annual sporting calendar.
Organised by the renowned Automobile Club de l’Ouest, teams must battle it out to cover the greatest distance within a 24-hour period in order to be crowned champions, balancing the demands of speed with their car’s stamina to finish victorious. A nail-biting event with edge-of-your-seat action guaranteed, it’s a must for high-end car enthusiasts and luxury lovers alike.
Men’s Golf Major: US Open
Also in June, the Men’s Golf Major 2022 is set to begin on 13th June at The Country Club in Boston, Massachusetts, and will continue for an entire week.
Spanish player Jon Rahm is the favourite to take the title at the culmination of this year’s event, which would make it his first ever win. The world number one until only recently, many perceive him to be a safe bet – but when you consider he was dethroned by US big hitter Scottie Sheffler, it seems there is still plenty to play for. Add to that the recent performance from another US player, Justin Thomas, plus the imminent return of iconic player Tiger Woods to the tournament, and we can expect an exciting event where the outcome could go a variety of different ways.
Horse racing: 2022 Royal Ascot
One of the biggest and most opulent British sporting events of the year, Royal Ascot also returns in June, with gates opening to spectators on Tuesday, 14th for five days of thrilling trackside action.
A favourite amongst luxury lovers looking to celebrate in style – whatever the outcome – the event attracts an affluent crowd, with Royalty often gracing its VIP boxes, and with eighteen races in total spread across the week, the excitement never stops. And, while it’s early days in terms of predicting who might be crowned the eventual winner, there’s plenty of fun to be had when it comes to enjoying a flutter.
Tennis Grand Slam: The Championships, Wimbledon
As we head further into the summer, it’s time to head for the courts of Wimbledon for some strawberries, cream and world class tennis. From 27th June all the way through until 10th July, we’ll see the likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Matteo Berrettini go head to head in a bid to clinch this year’s most prestigious championship in the men’s categories, while all eyes will be on British ace Emma Raducanu in the women’s singles.
With a variety of exciting players to consider backing, both relative newcomers to the game and seasoned pros, it’s set to be another breath-taking display of ability and prowess, and one of the most captivating tournaments we’ll see all year.
Formula One British Grand Prix
While the British instalment of this year’s Formula One championship certainly isn’t the only one worth tuning into, it is one of the most exciting for British fans, who will be turning out to watch seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton put on a stellar performance in a bid to make it his eighth.
In particular, we’ll be eager to see how he fares when pitted against Belgian driver Max Verstappen, who famously snatched the title from the jaws of defeat – and Hamilton – in 2021. The controversial win has been a bone of contention for some British fans, and whose favour the odds will be in this time around remains to be seen – but if you’re partial to some edge-of-your-seat action, then place your bets now.
