As the first spa of this standing in Plymouth, Diane said: “People will need to travel along way to find another of its type by way of a spa of such standards. The Team behind Gaia Spa have pulled on all their experiences with the design, interiors and operations to create such a beautiful facility.”

She continued: “Plymouth itself is going through much regeneration and we are excited to be playing a big part in that and hoping that Gaia spa is putting Plymouth on the map as a wellness destination not just for Devon but for the rest of the country….Spas bring about life changes. It is amazing how just stopping and giving yourself time can make you look deeper into yourself. Moments of reflection can make you stop, take stock and instigate changes in lifestyle.”

Following Diane’s speech, Susan Harmsworth MBE and Founder of ESPA, spoke about trends within the global spa industry and how the therapists are the most important element of the spa. “ESPA design beautiful spas all over the world but it is the therapists that are the most important,” she explained.
