Gucci officially launches its newest women’s fragrance this month – and Bamboo is set to steal the show this Autumn.
Bamboo is a floral and woody offering which opens with citrusy accords of bergamot, leading to the exotic floral heart of ylang-ylang, Casablanca lily and orange blossom, with intense notes of sandalwood, Tahitian vanilla and amber forming the base.
The stunning art deco bottle is shaped like a diamond and contrasts with the pink inside, complemented by a polished silver cap topped off with the signature Bamboo icon in a blend of strong lines with delicate sensibility.
The fragrance joins the fashion house’s iconic handbag of the same name, which was first created in 1947 as a result of the war-time rationing of materials. Imported from Japan, Gucci craftsmen heated and bent the bamboo into the curved handle that is now instantly recognisable.
Available in 50ml and 75ml Eau de Parfum, body lotion, shower gel and deodorant, the Bamboo fragrance range hits perfume counters later this month.
