‘Eyebrows speak louder than words’ (Jack Black). Not exactly one known for being part of the beauty and cosmetics industry, but Jack Black really did hit the nail on the head. It is without a doubt that groomed and well-shaped brows have become a staple of any beauty routine. In my opinion brows can define the face in a wonderful way.
While in Miami last month, I went to a jazz/cabaret night at one of the most notable hotels, the National Hotel on South Beach. The evening consisted of great live music and entertainment. The atmosphere was amazing and the musician was beyond incredible! Following his first segment, the pianist decided to meet and greet all the audience.
When he approached me and my mum the first thing that came out of his mouth was… ‘You two quite possibly have the most amazing eyebrows I have ever seen! Did you just get them done?’ All my mum and I could do was laugh and graciously thank him for his compliment. After all how do you react to a man, no less one playing a piano in dim lighting, who can recognise that we had our eyebrows done for our holiday?!
For me it all comes down to one individual that I have gone to since the age of fifteen, Raj. She is an unbelievable beautician and amazing family friend. Having studied Beauty Therapy in India, she came to London to pursue her own career. With an abundance of clients, incredible technique and a desire to ensure excellence, there is no other person I would trust with my brows!
Now there are many grooming methods for eyebrows notably plucking and waxing. The most natural method that has been tried and tested for decades in India is threading. It doesn’t harm the skin because skin layers remain intact unlike with waxing. Threading also keeps the skin taut unlike with waxing where it tugs at the skin and can often lead to premature aging and wrinkles. Hair follicles are weakened a lot more with threading so hairs become finer and less dense.

With a pencil shaped like an angled eyebrow brush, it is easy to fill and define your brows without looking false or overdone. With light strokes you will definitely achieve a beautifully shaped brow. The colour selection is incredibly life-like so this is definitely one for your makeup kit!

With a thinner nib, this brow shaper is great for more of an intricate application. It is also great for those who wish to take a little more time in perfecting the brow!
Setting:

Both have great setting power and will ensure your brows don’t move all day! I like to use the clear gel following my monthly brow grooming sessions. Little is required at this point in time to fill and define. When your brows are freshly threaded I always find they have a better concentration of colour. However, as my brows start to grow out a little, I tend to reach for the Bobbi Brow gel as it’s tinted and still keeps my brows in place.
