Fashion expert Jake Daniels looks at an exciting new luxury footwear brand that is helping to bring Swedish style to sneakers.
Footwear brand Axel Arigato pride themselves on their simplistic styles that encompass lux detailing. July 2015 saw the brand launch their first womenswear collection and celebrate their one-year anniversary.
The brand was founded in 2014 by creative duo, CEO Albin Johansson, who’s background includes project managing groups such as Members.com and NLYMan.com, and Creative Director Max Svardh, who founded womenswear fashion hub Milkandhoney.se.
Max told me: “We saw a gap in the market, especially in London for an affordable brand with a couture quality, British style has such a unique edge which really merges well with the Axel Arigato brand.”
Axel Arigato stay ahead of the ever-growing digital age by releasing at least one new style every week, which they like to call ‘Drop of the Week’. The current collection includes low, mid, high top and chukka sneakers along with loafers and slippers.
The newly launched womenswear collection include styles such as slip on and lace up sneakers created with materials such as calf hair, suede and embossed leather. Prices range from £115 for a suede Chukka style to £165 for a high top suede fish embossed sneaker.
Combining cutting edge design mixed with a sense of ease and authenticity, Axel Arigato footwear mark their way in the industry as the high-end footwear brand with the affordable price tag. Axel Arigato now sells within ninety-two countries across the globe, fourteen of those confirmed within the first three days of the brand going live.
