Move over diamonds, make-up is a girls new best friend! Creating drama with a feline flick or making a statement with a bold red lip, we can literally reinvent ourselves with every different face of make-up.
My make up line of choice would have to be the collections by Tom Ford. This is no ordinary make up collection with beautifully crafted mirrored compacts and innovative dual ended liners. It’s been created for those that seek the ultimate in exclusivity, sophistication and glamour. I just adore the feather-light illuminating powders, deliciously creamy lip colours and sumptuous lightweight foundations that deliver a radiant glow. Here are some of my all time favourite looks all created with fabulous Tom Ford make-up.
1.) Classic Hollywood
For a red-carpet event you just can’t go wrong with this classic Hollywood look. There’s a reason why they call it a classic and that’s because it simply doesn’t date. This luxe look focuses on the perfect lip and this delicious colour I’m wearing compliments every skin tone. I just adore Tom Ford lipsticks, they are enriched with chamomilla flower oil which creates a super creamy texture and gives you a really smooth application. The specially blended colour pigments ensure a beautiful luminous colour that’s going to give your smile that extra sparkle! Keep it simple elsewhere with soft natural brows and lengthy lashes with Tom Ford Ultra Length Mascara.
2.) Winter Silver Glam
To create that gorgeous winter sun kissed complexion it’s all down to the perfect skin illuminator. The Tom Ford Skin Illuminator is designed to be applied all over the face either with or without a foundation – depending on your complexion needs. It’ll help create that beautifully radiant and healthy skin, as if you’ve spent all day skiing in the mountains in Verbier.
I kept the lips simple with a beautiful clear gloss for a polished and sophisticated look. The Tom Ford Lip Lacquer contains tiny crushed pearls to give an amazing reflective shine. Wear it simple on bare lips or layer over your favourite Tom Ford Lip Colour to add a sexy gloss. Keep your lips soft and supple for the best effect. I love this easy at home DIY lip exfoliator – mix one teaspoon of honey with two teaspoons of sugar, gently massage it in to your lips, try to resist licking it off and leave it on for about 5-10 mins! Wash off with a warm flannel and apply a thick layer of lip balm overnight.
3.) Killer Smoky Eyes
There’s nothing sexier than a smoky eye and the Limited-Edition Tom Ford Private Shadow ensure the ultimate sexy smoky eye every time. They have such a high pigment of colour and promise a long-lasting crease free finish. Whether it’s a dinner date at Harry’s or a black tie event a smoky eye will guarantee that sophisticated drama to your look. Different shades of black shadow create the smoky eye, although the gentle sparkle in the Tom Ford Private Shadow in Black Onyx gives a playful twist on this classic. This make-up will really accentuate your eyes but for that added extra sparkle green eyed beauties should try a shadow with a plum tone, those with blue eyes try a touch of gold and brown eyes will pop with a hint of dark purple.
4.) Soft Glam
We’ve seen such pretty and shimmery looks coming off the New York and London catwalks recently, so expect to see this soft glam make-up look for Spring/Summer 18. It’s ultra-feminine and will make you feel oh so pretty. The delicate cheek blush and soft pink lips are complimented with a sparkly eye. The Tom Ford Cream Blush in Pink Sand will give you a healthy glow with a gentle pop of colour. The Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Colour lets you create this lovely and lustrous shimmery eye. Apply the smooth cream shadow to the eyelid first to act as a base and then add the shimmering powder over the top. The more shimmer powder, the more drama – it’s up to you!
5.) Bold Deeper Line
Everyone has a liquid liner in their make-up bag but let’s be honest, how often do you feel brave enough to use it? Well I’ve found the perfect liner that’s just so simple to use and creates the best winged tips and sultry eyes – I just can’t live without it! The Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen in the shade Deeper is the blackest black and is designed as a dual ended pen, with a calligraphy tip at one end and a styled brush at the other. The best advice for achieving a fantastic feline flick is to take your time, don’t rush it and practice makes perfect. There are also some really cool apps available that help you trace over a winged tip whilst you are looking in to the camera on your phone, so if you’re not a pro just yet then give it a go. We saw winged liners all over the catwalks at NYFW and it’s going to be a major Spring/Summer 18 beauty trend so expect to be wearing this sexy look for a while.
6.) Glow-Getter
The beauty buzz word at the moment has to be ‘glow’, it’s all about getting that ‘glow’. Whilst having a really good skincare routine and drinking plenty of water will ensure you’re getting a glow from the inside, there are products available to help you cheat your way there too! The Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate has been designed to help you create beautifully balanced features and Bella Hadid-esque cheekbones. Use the darker shade to define and contour the cheekbone, while the lighter shade helps to brighten and lift the face by drawing the light towards it. Absolutely genius!
7.) Vamp It Up
Sometimes an outfit just calls out for a vampy make-up look and when you’re feeling sultry then only a dark lip will do. I love this look with plenty of mascara and black eyeliner which brings out your inner rock goddess! However if you feel like a dark lip is a little out of your comfort zone, then start with a dark pink before you move on to darker reds. It’s really important to define your lips properly first with a liner, and then fill the lips with the colour afterwards. The Tom Ford Lip Contour Duo Public Display comes in a range of beautiful colours and has a liner at one end, with a slim lipstick at the other. It’s definitely one of my handbag essentials and slim enough to slip into the tiniest of Judith Leiber clutches!
