Over the last few years ‘wellness’ has grown into an immense industry. Finally, we are becoming savvier than ever, appreciating the tangible link between our physical being and elusory mind. Subsequently this also means our understanding of what ‘wellness’ means to us has developed into an overall ‘wellbeing’ concept.
This is where I introduce to you 3 St James’s Square. Positioned as the concierge for wellbeing, this new and incredibly smart development opened just last November and offers a glorious service with a refreshing approach to 21st century ‘wellbeing’. Exploiting the most sophisticated technology on the market, 3 St. James’s Square is much, much more than simply how many calories you can naively burn in 45 minutes.
3 St. James’s Square tailors each member so they can achieve personal goals. More so than the standard personal training you would expect from most gyms across London, along with the most beautiful gym I have stepped into, 3. St James’s Square offers bespoke sessions in body composition, yoga, boxing, Pilates, nutrition advice and general personal training. This is hosted in the state-of-the-art facility where ultimate luxury meets leading-edge technology and the gym floor has been designed to enhance each member’s experience.
To gain perspective of what it would be like to be a member of this exclusive mix of a health and private members club, I visited a few times to experience various aspects of possibly London’s most exclusive new wellbeing institute. In true technology style, prior to my first bespoke personal training session, I tried out the brand new 3dYuScan. One of the first of its kind in the UK, this ingenious piece of kit kick starts your personalised programme to ensure your experience is completely unique. Meeting with the Head of Fitness, he took me through the easy, in-depth tests designed to analyse each element of my body.
Hosting 100 SLR cameras, the 3dYuScan booth captured a detailed 360 image of my body with a cross section of measurements; this is a fantastic tool for anyone who wants to be able to track physical results. Another piece of kit quickly carried out a full body composition analysis which measured my body fat percentage and visceral fat levels whilst with a partnering lab, a DNAfit swab analysis determined my unique genetic make-up complemented with an in-depth fitness and nutrition guide. These results, some may argue, are well worth the money; providing the most detailed picture of your body. This helps 3 St. James’s Square compile the most in-depth picture of each individual to create a bespoke training regime, enabling you to exercise exactly to how best your body responds. Each member is also provided with a full nutritional breakdown of their body needs to perform to the best of its abilities. This certainly is the 2018 wellbeing experience!
Complementing this seriously swish fitness centre is 3 St. James’s Square Sanctuary. Along with its own USPs such as the UK’s only Somadome meditation experience; treatment rooms and spa lounge offer a collection of luxurious treatments including bespoke facials and massages from leading brands Carita and iS Clinical. With each treatment designed to sooth, relax and rebalance the body and mind, here a comprehensive consultation and skin analysis is applied to their facials. Some of the most opulent treatments include a 45-minute champagne facial or the red carpet full body experience that uses a ‘fire & ice’ resurfacing method. Combining some of the finest aspects available in 3 St. James’s Square Sanctuary – I experienced the Island Escape. A 90-minute treatment, starting with an express facial followed by a back scrub and deep soothing back, neck and shoulder massage.
The ultimate in overall wellbeing, the technology gym and superb spa are the underlying foundations to 3 St. James’s Square. A welcoming space that is designed to cater to members’ busy lifestyles, it also includes capacious changing rooms, a library, lounge, meeting room, opulent champagne bar and golf academy suite for both beginners and the experienced.
