We caught up with Dr Jonquille Chantrey, a multi-award-winning, world leading surgeon and international lecturer. As a pioneer in the beauty industry she has spoken throughout six continents and her technological and artistic innovations have helped to transform the aesthetics industry. Her services are in high demand by the most discerning global clientele who fly into her clinics in Cheshire and London, by waiting list only.
My car of choice
Currently the Aventador SVJ Roadster. I love an all wheel drive cabriolet and used to even drive my old Lamborghini in the snow. The Rolls Royce Dawn is beautiful but I also enjoy a gritty off roader. Driving is a genuine excitement of mine and I’m waiting for a sustainable electric option to fall in love with.
My favourite holiday destination
I’ve travelled throughout Asia and I am always inspired there. I particularly love Indonesia and Vietnam for the warmth of the people, the spirituality and the food! My family are Hawaiian and so my ultimate favourite remains the Hawaiian islands. There is nowhere on earth like Kauai.
My gadget I can’t live without
My iPad Air with magic keyboard. It pretty much allows me to do everything I need on a daily basis – write, play music, make keynotes and read on my Kindle app. I always have a tiny speaker with me too – music follows me everywhere.
My go to fashion brand
Saint Laurent. I love sharp, tailored silhouettes. I enjoy accessories but they always have a practical element so I can travel efficiently and easily. I frequently shop in the menswear sections of many designers.
My airline of choice
Hawaiian Airlines for those quick island hops with simple aloha spirit. Anywhere else – Emirates, Virgin and Singapore.
My favourite watch brand
My aspiring minimalist self answer is the Apple Watch for all round productivity. However, my love of men’s accessories reigns again – although I have particularly small wrists I like a big dial and wouldn’t refuse a bold Richard Mille right now.
My favourite restaurant
Impossible question! Louis XV in Monte-Carlo. Le George V in Paris. Nobu in Malibu. Street food in Korea, Taiwan and Bali. And the Sunday lunch at Sandy Lane, Barbados.
My guilty pleasure
I work hard so I try not to feel guilty about treating myself. Biggest weakness? Jewellery. My geeky fascination for the fine intricacies and the art of exquisite design is endless. Van Cleef and Arpels is my favourite. As Marilyn Monroe said, “Talk to me Harry Winston, tell me all about it” because I’m listening.
My favourite way to give back
A large part of my patient work is helping those with facial deformity and scarring through trauma, burns or childhood illnesses. I also treat many patients with very low self esteem. After I trained as a yoga teacher I started holding signature meditation events and mental health forums, focused on supporting people with their self image and confidence. This initiative is now becoming a charity, ØNE beauty project.
